Hutton Village Care Home

Very caring, happy environment. Very approachable. We have found that if we have any concerns they are dealt with very quickly. We count ourselves very lucky to have found Hutton Village and our mum, who is the most important person, feels safe and secure there.

I have been here since December 2017 and must say every day has been a pleasure.

My mother was not in Hutton Village for very long as she sadly passed away. The love and kindness shown to her, myself and my family were outstanding. For some, it was their first experience of care homes and it changed their perception. Care in later life can be productive and happy.

My brother experienced excellent care at Hutton Village in the 4 months he was a resident there. He was very appreciative of the kindness and assistance received from the staff and particularly the efforts to take him out for visits to the seaside, parks and coffee shops in a vehicle adapted for wheelchairs. We feel his last days there enabled him to pass away in a comfortable and peaceful environment.

Nothing is too much trouble even when my mother is being particularly awkward.

The home has a nice family atmosphere and the staff have time for the family as well as mum. We are very happy with our choice.

The family are absolutely 100% certain that Hutton Village Care Home is the best place for Mum and would recommend it. From the first phone call to the home we have been treated with first-class professionalism. The home is kept very clean and smells fresh and welcoming. Yes, it is expensive, but with qualified nurses and experienced staff, this is a better option than staying in her own home. Mum is very well looked after and all the staff take time to listen to her needs. Mum needed urgent respite care and this was our first choice. After a spell in hospital we realised her stay needed to be permanent. Despite her protest at going into a care home she has settled in and now actually realises that she still has choices and is treated with respect and dignity. All the staff, from domestic to management, are very caring, approachable and put residents' needs on high priority. The outings are brilliant and families are included in events eg residents and relatives meetings. When Mum lived on her own she was prone to feeling lonely, now she has someone to talk to 24/7.

I have been here over 2 years and feel very settled as all the staff are so kind and helpful, and would recommend this care home to other people.

The staff are approachable and friendly and take all suggestions and complaints seriously.

Such a lovely care home.

My late mother and late father both stayed at this home for several years. They were treated with dignity and respect. The staff are wonderful and caring, including the kitchen staff, housekeeper laundry ladies and handyman and especially activities leader. I still go in from time to time to visit the residents and I am always made to feel welcome.

The food and coffee etc were very disappointing and sometimes tasteless and lukewarm. Otherwise, the overall assessment would have been excellent throughout. If asked they would have altered menus.

My family and I have been totally satisfied with the excellent care and attention shown to our mother. The staff are always kind, thoughtful and caring and display a very professional approach to their work.

I find most of the nurses and carers very helpful and friendly towards Mum. They are kind but Mum could be encouraged to self-care more by some staff. Some are on the ball but sometimes they don't encourage her to wash daily. If she says no, they leave her. She may need more encouragement.

Mum was severely disabled by a stroke in 2003. She was cared for at home by my Dad until he died last year. They were married for 59 years. The emotional and physical challenges of settling Mum into a home were considerable. The professional, friendly and highly competent staff at Hutton were absolutely key to achieving this outcome. The home is clean, peaceful and welcoming, set amongst fields with wonderful gardens. The food and caring are top notch and there are daily activities for the residents to keep them stimulated and socialised. Mum hasn't been as mentally alert and happy for a long time. We cannot thank Hutton Village enough for what they are doing for Mum.

My parents stayed for respite and were very, very happy. The staff and management were great from the moment we arrived. Thank you so much for looking after them so well, and allowing me to have a lovely week with my family.
