Hutton Village has well trained, experienced staff who strive to provide a high standard of residential and nursing care, convalescence, palliative care and respite. Round the clock care and support are delivered with a warm and compassionate approach promoting the dignity, respect and independence of each individual at all times.

They’re here when you and your loved ones need them most. For planned respite or last- minute trips. A safe space to recover after an operation. To experience what their home’s like before moving long- term. To just relax. Whatever the reason, their doors are open.

Originally the village school, the home is decorated to a high standard and is homely and comfortable. There is a lovely garden with lots of sunny and shady places to sit and enjoy, including a pond and a sensory garden. There is a number of choices of bedrooms, all are ensuite, and many enjoy views of the garden and surrounding countryside. The rooms are fully equipped, however, residents are encouraged to bring their own personal possessions if they choose, to ensure they feel at home.

The in-house chef provides nutritionally balanced meals for residents and always offers both a cold and hot option at each mealtime. Residents can enjoy a variety of snacks and cakes throughout their day. The team are happy to discuss individual dietary requirements and preferences.

They have a well-developed programme of activities led by activities coordinators, and there are regular entertainers such as musicians, visits from Pet Therapy dogs, a monthly church service, quizzes, games, films and individually tailored sessions.

The home has done incredibly well to weather the last two years of the pandemic in such a good way. It's not been easy for anyone, but I never heard any staff complaining, and everyone pitched in when needed to. Contrary to other reviews I felt we were kept fairly well appraised of the changes in rules,
yes perhaps it wasn't always as clear as it could have been, but the rules were coming from central government not from the home management. Residents were protected by being restricted to their rooms, and as a consequence outbreaks were small, contained and not fatal to residents (sadly one carer did die at the start of the pandemic). Some things at times weren't perfect, but if you have staff off self-isolating so they don't infect the residents, temps are required and at times, they didn't hit quite the same high standards the permanent staff have within the home. Things are definitely on the up now, and Dad is happier.

My mum has been in the home for near 3 years now. It was a great place to be and she was very very happy there, then along came Covid.
The home has done well to keep residents safe during this time but at a cost to the quality of life for residents and relatives.
The home has not kept relatives
and residents up-to-date with constant rule changes, residents have been confined to their rooms when covid outbreaks occur and visits stopped. The home did away with their pod visits when it would have been helpful to have kept it.
The whole episode has led to mum feeling low, bored, confused and frustrated. This has led to myself and my sister having a more stressed relationship with the home management that has struggled in my opinion to deal with the situation.
It’s clear from what we understand from mum and communication with the home that staff shortages exist and this compounds the difficulties. However I do not have any sympathy for BUPA on this, they make a millions £.

Our elderly mum recently needed another spell of respite at this excellent facility. Once again, the entire team were understanding, responsive and very welcoming. Unfortunately, due to the Covid isolation period, I was unable to visit, but I cannot praise the team highly enough for their professionalism
whenever I made contact with them. Having received the rest and support she needed, Mum is back in her own home. Thank you all.

My mother was in the home for four months until she passed and while she was there the staff could not do enough for my mother. They were kind and compassionate. Also, the girls on the reception were always very helpful and were able to answer any questions. It was a difficult time because of Covid
but I was able to visit her in her room. Thank you all so much.

I am 98 and have been in this home for three years. I have been happy here, with such a well kept home, good room and wonderful, large gardens. All the staff are very efficient and caring. Lockdown has meant drastic curtailing of activities but great efforts have been made to keep us going in spite
of no visitors or entertainers and other restrictions. We try to keep cheerful and hopeful but miss our family and friends.

I cannot commend all the staff at Hutton Village Nursing Home highly enough, it is a friendly and comfortable environment where the residents are extremely well looked after. My mum is very happy there, has made friends with residents and staff who she regards now as an extended family. The activities

During covid, the home has been outstanding in their precautions which has been proved by the results. Do get disappointed sometimes when staff say they will do something but do not carry it out. On the whole, however, satisfied with the home.

My mother has been a resident since October 2018, from the moment she arrived she was made to feel safe and very well cared for. The amazing staff go way beyond their role to provide genuine friendship for residents that have been greatly appreciated during the lockdown. All nursing and care given is
of a very high standard and always given showing great respect. Very important in maintaining dignity. They have done a wonderful job of keeping everyone well and safe.

My mum was in Hutton Village care home for 2 1/2 years and received what I consider to be the best possible care. She sadly passed away on 7th June 2020 and I can only add that the care she received at the end was both excellent and loving. I was lucky to be allowed into the home to be with her at the
end for which I will be eternally grateful. My dad is still in the home and receiving the same excellent care.

I am pleased to be in the home, and it meets all the needs that I could not have achieved living alone. Staff can't verify my need for hot food and drinks etc; hot food should be served on hot/warm plates and dishes.

I have been to another home and much prefer Hutton Village. Staff are very approachable. The garden is lovely. Plentiful food but not quite the same as home. Activities could not be better.

My mother is currently a resident at the home and we are very happy with the care she receives. The staff are always professional and extremely caring and supportive of the residents. The home itself is well furnished and lots of the rooms have views of the large beautiful garden.
The home organise
various fetes and events in the gardens for the residents and relatives to enjoy and the atmosphere is of an extended family.
The staff during the pandemic have all been amazing and have kept all the relatives informed of their loved ones day to day via a WhatsApp group and Facetime, which has bought us all closer together and reassured us in these worrying times.

Very caring, happy environment. Very approachable. We have found that if we have any concerns they are dealt with very quickly. We count ourselves very lucky to have found Hutton Village and our mum, who is the most important person, feels safe and secure there.

My mother was not in Hutton Village for very long as she sadly passed away. The love and kindness shown to her, myself and my family were outstanding. For some, it was their first experience of care homes and it changed their perception. Care in later life can be productive and happy.

My brother experienced excellent care at Hutton Village in the 4 months he was a resident there. He was very appreciative of the kindness and assistance received from the staff and particularly the efforts to take him out for visits to the seaside, parks and coffee shops in a vehicle adapted for wheelchairs.
We feel his last days there enabled him to pass away in a comfortable and peaceful environment.

My mother and father have both received exceptional care in this home.
The staff are friendly and always respond to any concerns that we have.
The home is always clean and welcoming.
Nothing is too much trouble even when my mother is being particularly awkward.
