My mother came into Elmwood Care Home in mid April , after a three month stay in hospital. She is gradually settling in well, and we are hoping in time that she will socialise more with the other residents.
The manager, deputy manager and in fact all the staff have been extremely approachable and informative
and helpful.
The care home is well run, and care and concern for the residents is clear to see.
There is a nice garden to enjoy, and my mother is enjoying the food. Nothing seems too much trouble. We feel reassured that she is being so cared for.

Our sister recently had a fortnight's respite care at Wykebeck Care Home, and we were all so grateful for the positive experience! The staff have all been amazing: caring and friendly. Nothing seemed too much trouble for them. Our sister is quite a shy person but was delighted to be invited to become
involved in the many activities that take place there, twice each day. The friendliness of the staff and other residents truly made her stay. The home is very warm, clean and well-maintained, with spacious comfortable rooms and delicious home cooked meals. She is certainly looking forward to her next opportunity to go back. Sincere thanks!

The Team are all really friendly. They are always at hand and any request is dealt with efficiently.

Dad has settled in really well. He is checked regularly and kept clean and refreshed.

The room is cosy and kept clean. He has been able to put his own stamp on it.

Each area of the home

is well secured with keypad access only.

Food is above average but limited with Dad's vegetarian diet and the needle for soft food. Having said that the chef and kitchen team provide a well balanced diet.

My dear wife has now been a resident at Elmwood for several months.

Although somewhat incapacitated and having difficulty in conversing she has been made to feel at home. She is well cared for as if she were at home.

The staff seem to love her. They work very hard.

At the time of her 80th

birthday they made a little tea party complete with birthday cake. It was great! She loved it.

The food is superb, good enough to make me want to move in.

So much for the good points; now here come the complaints

My mum has been under the care of Elmwood for over 4 years in which time I have little or nothing to worry over. Superb staff who are extremely attentive to her needs. All care & nursing staff are polite & patient with the residents who all must have different needs & levels of care. Important to myself
& sure others also. Management extremely helpful & will always offer information upon questions regards mum. Reception always welcoming. I applaud the cleaning staff keeping the place clean as possible. Occasional recent needs to feed my mum which has been done. No complaints regarding food & drink. Activity afternoons provided & garden available for all to walk around, sit, view & enjoy. Both good. No complaints, 4 years, example of excellent care.

My mum has been living at Elmwood since July 2025. From the very beginning, the staff made her feel welcome, safe, and respected, which made a huge difference during what could have been a very difficult transition.
The team are consistently kind, patient, and attentive. She is treated with dignity
at all times.
Communication with family members has also been excellent. I'm always kept informed about how she is doing, and any questions or concerns I have are handled quickly and thoughtfully.
The home itself is clean, comfortable, and has a warm, friendly atmosphere. There are always activities going on to keep residents engaged, which my mum really enjoys.
Overall, I'm very grateful for the care and support provided at Elmwood and I would highly recommend this care home to anyone looking for a safe and supportive place for their loved ones.

Well managed and care home with great professional and caring staff.
Only issues are:
Food can be a bit bland, but is good quality. Catering to individual tastes would be great.
Room could be slightly larger, but is adequate and well laid out.

My dad was in sunnyview 12 years ago so when mum couldn't manage on her own at home anymore I knew this was the place for her. I didn't think mum would settle as she is very independent how wrong I was. Mum absolutely loves being at sunnyview she is well taken care of by a lovely caring team. If mum
was still at home she would be lonely not at sunnyview the entertainment team are exceptional they make sure all the residents have fun thinking of so many different activities. Today is mothers days I went into the cafe area it was stunning decorations beautiful cakes and my mums tea service being used which I had given them it made my heart melt. My husband and I can now relax knowing mum is safe being looked after by the most caring team.
