Review of Beacher Hall Care Home from P H (Brother of Resident) published on 7 August 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

My brother moved to Beacher Hall in February and since then his mental health has shown a clear improvement and he is happy with his care. His room is light and airy and he feels comfortable. Food is varied and good. The staff are attentive and all his medical needs are catered for. The physiotherapy has helped his mobility greatly. Overall we could not wish for a better place for him to recover from his stroke.

Review of St Mark's Care Home from Margaret M (Wife of Resident) published on 6 July 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience
He was pleased with the care and support he received at Bupa care home at St Mark's, Maidenhead. He was a patient there for two weeks after having had a fall while on holiday in Spain. The injury had caused him to have a partial replacement hip.

The care he had from all the staff was first class, and he is now recovering well at home.

Reply from Alison Horridge, Customer Advisor on behalf of the team at St Mark's Care Home

Review of The Donnington Care Home from P S (Son of Resident) published on 30 June 2026 Submitted via Postal Card

Staff are amazing and so caring for mum. Occasionally the food can be hit and miss depending on what staff are on. A bit noisy at the moment for the room refirbishments, but understandable. Mums room especially the bathroom are very dated. Repairs can take a while to complete. Overall the staff make Donnington special.

My wife has been a resident since Dec 2018. The care she receives has always been excellent even when staff members are fully stretched. The staff keep me updated on any medical issues arising. The care she receives has definately reduced her visits the hospital. My wife feels safe and secure. We are lucky to find a care home that can deal with my wife's complex needs. Review of St Mark's Care Home from S P (Daughter of Resident) published on 18 May 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

If you are considering sending your loved one with dementia to St Mark's Care Home, I would urge you to be vigilant and make sure any concerns you have are actually and correctly documented and followed-up by management.

It took the death of my mother and the injuries she sustained at St Mark's for the management to hopefully 'put their house in order'.

Serious failings were found following an independent Bupa review, a RBWM council's safeguarding visit and an unannounced CQC inspection resulting in the home's rating downgraded to 'Requires Improvement '.

I sincerely hope the many recommendations for improvement are implemented and Bupa's own company policies, processes and procedures, and statutory reporting, will now in fact be adhered to by nursing staff and management at St Mark's.

It is too late for our family but hopefully no one else will have to suffer the pain and distress we have experienced.

Reply from Julie Walsh, Customer Care Adviser on behalf of at St Mark's Care Home

We are deeply sorry for your loss and for the distress you and your family have experienced, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. We take concerns like these extremely seriously and remain committed to learning from feedback and working closely with regulators to ensure the highest standards of care, safety and continuous improvement at St Mark's Care Home.

Review of Beacher Hall Care Home from W P (Mother of Resident) published on 14 May 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My son has been a resident at Beacher Hall for nearly two years. His needs are complex and the nursing staff tend to his requirements exceptionally well. The activities team work very hard in arranging a variety of activities which everyone enjoys. Thanks too to the Physiotherapy Team for the help and encouragement they give my son.
I should also.like to mention and thank the Maintenance Team who have recently reorganised his room and which now looks so homely.
A big thank you too for the courtesy and consideration shown to me by all the members of staff at Beacher Hall
