I can not fault the care my sister received a Allington Court the staff are always so welcoming and go out of their way to help. Since my sister come to live at this home she was unsociable and not wanting to talk to anyone. I must praise the activity staff for their determination and support my sister
has completely change she enjoys daily activities whenever I visit her she always looks busy doing her favourite hobby knitting. The food looks great and happy to see her in the dinning room with other residents. I feel much more relaxed to know how well she is. The home is clean, and the care staff are amazing. I would highly recommend this home.

From beginning to end the staff have been professional, courteous, helpful and supportive to both me and my mother. At no time were we made to feel a nuisance. The activities were appropriate and inclusive. My only mark down was the room, to good and this just because the room was not ensuite and a
commode was in the room.

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
Came in for respite care in June 2025. Became a permanent resident within 6 weeks.
I struggled to settle initially, even though the staff were kind and patient. My condition is rare and therefore it's not immediately apparent what my needs are.
My main issue is that I have to call staff to enable
me to get to the toilet but they then leave me for too long sitting on the toilet. I would prefer them to stay close by to help me off the toilet when I'm ready.
I would like to have a full and proper shower not just a fleeting spray over!
I do struggle with communication/speech, the staff are patient with me.
The daily activities have improved considerably recently making the mornings fun, with a community feel.
Although I wish I could have continued to live in my home, Field House is becoming my home.

Allington Court is a wonderful care home. My father has been here for over a year now, and I feel confident that he is well looked after. His room is always clean when I visit, and he always appears well looked after. The HCAs and other members of staff are always so lovely and treat him with care and
dignity, and they are always so welcoming to myself and others whenever we visit. Thank you to all of the nurses, HCAs and staff who work here. I appreciate you all.

My overall experience of Field House has been excellent. Mum has been here for7 months after we found that she wasn't coping at all on her own due to her rare medical condition.
The relief that she is being cared for , well fed and watered, and most importantly that she is safe from serious injuries,
is immense.
Mum looks brighter, has put on weight( she was underweight) she is healthier and happier now. It's lovely to walk towards and see her smiling again.
All the staff are friendly, polite, caring and considerate to Mum, and all her family.
The rules are. "It's your Mum's home".

There is a varied daily activity schedule. Crafts, quiz's, sound and dog therapy and a choir!! This is a small example of the activities. The staff follow 'national days'. They are currently gearing up for a Valentines lunch with a profession singer attending. The home is decorated with hearts that the residents have created.

Any issues/problems are quickly resolved. Management are very approachable

When my brother Steve was taken into hospital for a chest infection, the staff there were amazed at how well his skin was - no sign of any problems at all, and they asked me which home he was in as they said it was unusual for someone to be so well looked after! Father in law is very contented. He enjoys activities in the mornings and the entertainment organised, especially the singing.
He loves the food with various options and has eaten foods never had before.
Christmas is a favourite time for him, he enjoyed the decorations and the ease of being organised

My mother has been a resident of Kilfillan House Care Home for the last 3 months and is settling in well. The staff are brilliant. They always have a smile and are looking after mum extremely well. The accommodation is very good, mum's bedroom is light and airy, and nicely decorated. The food is of
a very good standard and plenty of it. If anything the portion sizes could be a little smaller as mum struggles to get through some of the meals. However, she thoroughly enjoys the afternoon tea and cakes. I feel very reassured that mum is being very well cared for and I can't thank the team enough. They are amazing!

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
My mum moved into Kilfillan House for respite care in June 2025 while we searched for somewhere permanent nearby. She had lived independently and then with me, but needed more daily support. We tried another care home, but although it was newer and had more facilities, it felt more like a hotel than
a home Mum could settle in. Kilfillan House immediately stood out for its warm, homely atmosphere and caring staff. Mum has settled in well and I'm always reassured knowing she is being looked after by a dedicated team. I'm particularly impressed by how they've encouraged Mum, who is quite shy, to join in with activities, helping her feel comfortable and included. My visits are always positive, and I appreciate being welcomed in too. I would certainly recommend Kilfillan House to anyone looking for a true 'home' for their loved one.

Erskine Hall Care Home

from Stephen H (Son of Resident) published on 28 January 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My Mum made the decision herself that she wanted to move from sheltered accommodation into a residential care home. She didn't have dementia or Alzheimer's or a terminal illness, she was just a very frail old lady vulnerable to falling over.
She moved into Erskine Hall in September 2024 at the age
of 99. She celebrated her 100th birthday and her 101st but sadly she died in October 2025 very peacefully whilst taking a morning nap simply from frailty of old age.
From the moment of her arrival, Mum was very happy living in Erskine Hall. She knew her life was moving towards its end but she accepted every new day as it came. She loved all the staff who looked after her and took care of her. She knew that everybody had their part to play be they a cleaner or a nurse; a cook or a receptionist.
As her son, I never once had any complaints either about the care provided to my Mum or the overall service. Both were outstanding and greatly exceeded my expectations. Absolutely wonderful.
Reply from Alison Horridge, Customer Advisor on behalf of the team at Erskine Hall Care HomeThank you for taking the time to leave us your lovely review. Both my parents are residents at Erskine Hall, and sadly both have dementia.
My mother has been a resident since November 23, and my father since April 25.
My parents both have excellent day to day care, compassion and respect.
I know their best interests and overall well being are a priority
for the staff.
Earlier this year my father's health declined and made it unsafe for him to continue living independently. I arranged for him to join my mother at the nursing home. The staff made this transition from his home to Erskine Hall quite seamless, which helped everyone involved enormously.

My dad stayed at Kilfillan House for a short two week period to allow my mum some much needed respite, and we couldn't have asked for a more caring and compassionate environment.
From the moment he arrived, the staff were incredibly kind, thoughtful, and attentive, providing an outstanding level of
care. The home itself felt warm and welcoming, with a lovely atmosphere for both residents and visitors, and the food was varied and clearly prepared with care. Despite only being there for a short time, my dad formed genuine connections with the staff. When it was time to leave, he became very emotional, as everyone came to say goodbye and made him feel so valued and cared for. We are really grateful to the team at Kilfillan House and would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for compassionate, high quality care. We would not hesitate for a moment to bring my dad back should the need arise.

The vast majority of staff, from front desk, nurses, carers & domestic, go above & beyond their job descriptions. This is needed as their simply aren't enough, especially carers and dedicated activity staff. Too often I've seen residents left alone in lounges or in the activity room because here are
not, no matter who says differently, enough to cover when either everyday tasks are being performed or a resident is in need of help elsewhere. I'm also concerned staff are not paid sick leave as this only encourages illnesses to be brought into the home leaving all residents at risk.
