Kilfillan House provides nursing, residential, palliative, Parkinson's and convalescence care. The home offers both long-term and short-stay care.

Located in a pleasant residential area not far from the town centre of Berkhamsted, this former manor house provides first-class accommodation and facilities. Interiors include comfortable ensuite bedrooms while outside offers pretty mature gardens with a greenhouse and sensory garden, each providing the ideal setting to relax and unwind.

The chef provides meals that are tasty and nutritious and works hard to ensure that all residents’ dietary requirements are met. Home-made sweet treats are available every day and the home enjoys celebrating each resident’s birthday with a personalised birthday cake.

Daily activities and regular outings are arranged for residents and friends and family are always welcome to join in.

From her arrival at Kilfillan House until her death two weeks later my mother was cared for with kindness and obvious expertise. Just as importantly, her visitors were always made welcome too. Many thanks from a grateful family!

My mum 's stay at Kilfillan was just three weeks until she died but she was in the best possible care. My family is very grateful to each and every member of staff for the professionalism, kindness and compassion they gave us and my mother. Everyone - nursing, admin, cleaners - was exemplary. Whilst
end of life is never going to be an easy process, I can't imagine it could be any better than the one provided by Kilfillan. Thank you.

This was my father's 2nd respite stay here. It was great to see so many of the same friendly caring staff as were here 2 years ago on his last stay. There is a really happy atmosphere amongst the staff who clearly know the residents well and they really understand my dad's needs and gave an excellent
level of care. The catering and facilities were also very good with varied menu and nice lounge and garden. Would definitely recommend.

My mum has had a very happy life at Kilfillan House. She has been a resident since Sept 2024. The staff are well qualified and friendly. The accommodation is spotless and comfortable. My mum sadly passed away suddenly this month and the help and support I have received is 5 star! Although my mum's mobility
was zero, she never missed the abundance of entertainment provided in the lounge. The cooking is all from fresh ingredients, top quality.

Although our father's stay at Kilfillian Care Home was brief - just three weeks before his passing - our experience with the staff and the care he received left a lasting and positive impression on our family.
From the moment he arrived, we were always greeted with a smile, and there was a genuine
atmosphere of compassion throughout the home from all staff. The care was not only professional but deeply personal. The nursing staff in particular were proactive, attentive, and responsive to his needs, ensuring he was comfortable and treated with dignity every step of the way.
What meant just as much was the support offered to us as a family. During a very emotional and difficult time, the team was there for us too - with empathy, reassurance, and consistent communication.
Thank you to everyone at Kilfillian Care Home for making those weeks as peaceful and comforting as they could be.

Kilfillan House is a pleasant building with a smart new outside seating area and a welcoming entrance area. The room was a moderate size - a little dark but a lovely view of a cherry tree. I was particularly impressed with the warm welcome Dad received on arrival and Dad said that the food was excellent
and the staff attentive and kind. Some minor improvements - Dad said the bedroom floor was slippery when wet. It was also sometimes a little hard to get information before admission. Thank you to all the staff who took such good care of dad.

During my two week post operation stay, I felt well looked after and very comfortable at Kilfillan House. I had a full knee replacement, so initially needed a lot of support and found the staff kind, helpful and knowledgeable. I was always treated with dignity and respect and felt very welcome from

My mother stayed at Kilfillan House post a knee replacement surgery for 2 weeks. The care was just what she needed, and the staff were kind, attentive and very supportive. They were also very knowledgeable in terms of managing her pain relief and other medical side effects of the operation. The support
staff were also welcoming and always offered me a cup of tea, and were happy to spend time talking to us.

After 3 months my wife is still receiving excellent care and attention at Kilfillan House.
One highlight was Christmas Day when I was invited to dinner. The staff set up a festive table in the conservatory, and the chef and her team served up an excellent meal. Any request we have made has always been
dealt with.

My husband has been in Kilfillan House for a year and is well looked after. Anything wanted going and the carers are there. The kitchen staff did wonders over Christmas, with excellent service.
I was in for two weeks over Christmas. Best Christmas I had in a long time. I would go again.
