Kilfillan House Care Home

To the manager - Just to say a big thank you for the hospitality and the kindness shown to me whilst I was a resident in Kilfillan House Care Home in Berkhamstead. I chose Kilfillan House as the reception and information I received when visiting on a Saturday afternoon inspired me that this was the place I required for respite care. It all turned out correct and I thank you and all your staff for their assistance and all that was provided.

The staff have been very kind and supportive to us both and I have been made very welcome and I have felt that we have both been cared for.

Kilfillan House is an amazing care home. My Mum was a resident here for 8 months and received fantastic care. The staff are all very friendly and caring and treated my Mum with the utmost respect at all times. Although suffering from a horrible terminal illness, the home made her final months as happy and comfortable as possible and our family never had to worry about her when we were not there. The Manager runs a fantastic team and I cannot praise them highly enough. I could not have wished for better care of my Mum (and the family!) Thank you.

My mum is very well cared for here. The staff seem attentive and genuinely interested in her and my family. I am so grateful to know that she is in a lovely, caring environment where all her nursing needs are taken care of. She arrived with bad pressure sores and the care she has had has meant they have healed very well.

Mum has been at Kilfillan House Care Home for over 18 months her care has been good. She has been in bed more the last 6 months which I feel sad about as she enjoyed the social side - entertainment. She does have a pleasant room which helps the situation.

My wife continues to be well cared for after more than three years in Kilfillan House. I can rely on the staff to look after her needs.

My mother has been in Kilfillan House Care Home since the 18th December 2017. My mother and the family have been very happy with the care she has received in that time. The staff are always very pleasant and helpful.

At Kilfillan House my relative is well cared for by thoughtful, considerate and caring staff. The sitting room, dining room and conservatory are pleasant communal rooms. The garden is greatly appreciated weather permitting. There is a family feel at Kilfillan House and staff are always very welcoming when we visit. Managing staff are always approachable and keen to discuss any requirements or changes. A range of activities are organised to keep residents stimulated and socialised. Some bedrooms would be improved by refurbishment.

Our dear mum came to Kilfillan for her end of life care. A short stay was expected and now, thanks to excellent nursing care she celebrated her 88 birthday some 9 months after admission. This is quite remarkable in itself but what is extraordinary is the care and professionalism of all the at the Nursing Home. A special birthday tea was organised and as a family we cannot thank all the nursing home team for their kindness, respect and dignity. We enjoyed special time with mum on her birthday thanks to the home, something we did not think we would have this year. Remarkable care by remarkable people. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
