Allington Court is a purpose-built dementia care home. The home is dedicated to caring for adults living with dementia, from early onset to more complex end-of-life needs, including nursing, residential, Parkinson's and short-stay care.

Everything is on one floor, and the building has a circular design. giving every room garden access and making it easier for residents to find their own way round. The home’s interior has been decorated to suit individuals with dementia, being colour-themed and including memory triggers.

With the help of their loved ones, staff build a picture of their life story and their likes and dislikes. Staff can then personalise care and help them live the way they want to. Communication and engagement is a big part of life here, too. So, if your loved one finds it easier to use signs and symbols to communicate, the team are happy to use Makaton.

There’s always lots going on within the welcoming community. Activities are run seven days a week and frequently join neighbouring Bupa care home, Tenterden House (offering nursing and residential care), for a range of engaging events and the occasional themed meal.

For more information about life in the home, please visit their Facebook page, search 'Bupa UK Tenterden House and Allington Court'.

I can not fault the care my sister received a Allington Court the staff are always so welcoming and go out of their way to help. Since my sister come to live at this home she was unsociable and not wanting to talk to anyone. I must praise the activity staff for their determination and support my sister
has completely change she enjoys daily activities whenever I visit her she always looks busy doing her favourite hobby knitting. The food looks great and happy to see her in the dinning room with other residents. I feel much more relaxed to know how well she is. The home is clean, and the care staff are amazing. I would highly recommend this home.

Allington Court is a wonderful care home. My father has been here for over a year now, and I feel confident that he is well looked after. His room is always clean when I visit, and he always appears well looked after. The HCAs and other members of staff are always so lovely and treat him with care and
dignity, and they are always so welcoming to myself and others whenever we visit. Thank you to all of the nurses, HCAs and staff who work here. I appreciate you all.

Father in law is very contented. He enjoys activities in the mornings and the entertainment organised, especially the singing.
He loves the food with various options and has eaten foods never had before.
Christmas is a favourite time for him, he enjoyed the decorations and the ease of being organised
for me to collect him on Christmas day to spend with family. Well done to all those who care.

Dad has been a resident of Allington Court Care Home since July 2024. I sent him for 2 weeks' respite, however seeing him calm and relaxed, I wanted him to stay. The staff are very busy but are kind and helpful. Many activities on offer and something every morning dad joins in with most. He was recently
taken out to visit a local museum and enjoyed seeing the old aircrafts.
Dad enjoys sitting in the TV lounge, relaxing in the armchairs and loves the variety of food on offer.

My husband has been happy & feels at home. He likes his room & he says the staff are friendly. He receives good care & they are doing the best they can to make him comfortable. We appreciate all the help he receives. As a visitor I always feel welcome. The only observation would be to improve cleanliness
by changing bed clothes more often as well as cleaning the room. Thank you.

My jsuband first ame to the care home after spending six weeks in hospital for one month's respite care after which he seemed settled and content and luckily he was able to continue to stay there on a permanent basis. I have found all the staff to be dedicated and caring and interested in my husband
as a person and what his likes and dislikes are and they respect his dignity. Happily he has regained his appetite which is a reflection on the excellent meals, cakes and snacks offered.

After our mother passed away our dad was not able to cope alone. Spending time living with us became impossible as we all worked. I was worried about the prospect of our dad going into residential care. I need not have. My sister found Allington Court, close to where we live and we loved it right away.
It is clean, bright and welcoming with a lovely atmosphere. Dad moved in as a full-time resident and settled so quickly. We can visit all the time and Dad enjoys the activities and the company. The staff are a delight and treat all residents with dignity, kindness and respect. I like to follow their daily lives on social media. Highly recommended.

On entry to Allington Court Care Home we were greeted by a nurse who took us to see our friend who is having palliative care. I was so impressed with how comfortable clean and peaceful she was. My 91-year-old father was a resident at Allington Court for three weeks before he passed away on 17th Feb, having been placed there for an assessment following four weeks in hospital after a fall.
The care he received during his time at Allington Court was brilliant. The whole team couldn't do enough
for him, as well as my sister and I who spent many hours there.
Unlike when he was in hospital, we felt confident that he was in good hands when we left him each evening at Allington Court.
Right from the start, the team showed a genuine interest in him and were keen to find out how they could make his stay as comfortable as possible - nothing was too much trouble in meeting his, and our, needs.
A big thank you to everyone who supported us so well and allowed us to concentrate on him for the last few weeks of his life.

An excellent afternoon and it looked as if the residents all enjoyed it in different ways. Very lively, the young carers came in this year, lots of food, singing and entertainment etc. All done to a very high and enjoyable standard.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.628) out of 10 for Allington Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 18 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.678 for Allington Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (149 Excellents x 5) + (46 Goods x 4) + (10 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 205 Ratings = 4.678
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.95 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Allington Court Care Home is based on 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.95
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 44 registered maximum number of service users is 8.8, which has been reached with 18 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
