I am very grateful that all the nurses and carers took such good care of my husband!
We're so grateful that you've taken the time to share your thoughts. Thank you for recognizing the care and dedication of our team and we are so pleased to hear that you are impressed with the high standards of care provided by our staff at The Arkley Care Home. Hopefully you will go away from this feeling like your loved one received the best possible care.
The care my father received at the Arkley was faultless. Every member of staff - from carers and nurses to management, administration kitchen, laundry, cleaning and maintenance teams - was kind, helpful and made residents and visiting loved ones feel genuinely cared for. When my father moved into the home in 2023, we thought he might only have a few months left. Instead, thanks in large part to the wonderful care he received, he lived for another 3 years passing away peacefully in his sleep.
We appreciate you sharing your experience with our home. We are saddened to hear about your loss. Hearing that our care has made a difference to you and your family is truly rewarding. It is always wonderful to hear words like "Kind" and "Helpful" being used to describe our staff. Hopefully you will go away from this feeling like your loved one received the best possible care.
We looked at many care homes in the area. Arriving at Arkley, we were made so welcome by all the staff especially Denisa, Colette and Sam. Delighted we made the right choice.
Thank you for your wonderful review. We are so pleased to hear how welcomed you felt to The Arkley. Our team will be so pleased to hear your kind words- they truly care about making every resident feel special.
When manager around looking well after people and place looks nice. Feeling well looked after and safe. Manager very kind always happy to help. Feeling like in my own home.
We appreciate you sharing your experience with our home. It is wonderful to hear that you have settled in comfortably with us. We want our home to feel like a community, and it's wonderful to hear that you feel a part of it. Please don't hesitate to reach out if there's anything more we can do.
My dad was looked after at The Arkley from August 2024 until his passing in January 2026. The care and kindness he received as a bedbound, dementia sufferer was second to none, and I cannot thank the staff enough.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. Hopefully you are comforted knowing that your Dad received the best possible care with us at The Arkley.
The home's manager + deputy manager are amazing. I could not have wished for better. They are super aware and intelligent as well as compassionate towards vulnerability in their residents. Their attention to detail even how care is given is very much appreciated and make me far more confident I made the right choice for my mother.
It's always encouraging to read reviews like this. It's reassuring to hear that our approach to care has brought you and your family peace of mind. Our team will be so pleased to hear your kind words- they truly care about making every resident feel special. We're committed to continuing to support you and your family in every way we can.
My dad has been there for nearly 3 years. The care he has received has been excellent. Nothing is ever too much trouble and the staff always seem to have a smile on their faces. When Dad has been unwell, they have immediately dealt wtih it, and helped his recovery enormously. In addition the range of activities is wide and great seasonal on religious events. The food is also varied and tasty.
We appreciate you sharing your experience with our home. We want our home to feel like a community, and it's wonderful to hear that you feel a part of it. We take pride in creating a caring environment, and it's lovely to hear that reflected in your comments. We're delighted that you found the...
My Mum is very pleased after moving into the Arkley Care Home. The most important thing is that the manager Denisa and all her staff are friendly, helpful, well-organised and caring people who do their best to make the residents feel comfortable and treated with dignity.
Your feedback means a lot to us and the team at The Arkley Care Home. Providing peace of mind for families is one of our top priorities, so your words mean a lot. My overall experience at the Arkley Care Home has been and still is excellent. Since the new manager took over, her leadership has seen big changes in the care home. As in staffing, Denisea runs the home to a high level and tactfully pushes all her staff to perform to their best at all times when on duty. I find all staff in all jobs very efficient, and I am very happy with the care and consideration my wife is given.
Your feedback means a lot to us and the team at The Arkley Care Home. It's lovely to know that you feel reassured that your loved one is safe and well looked after. We're committed to making every day as positive and comfortable as possible and we hope to continue providing your loved one with the best possible care.
A great place. The staff are very friendly, and nothing is an issue. Food is good. Housekeeping and cleaning of clothes are very good, a quick turnaround when clothes need to be returned to the room. Managers are brilliant.
Thank you for your lovely review. It is always nice to hear words like "very friendly" and "nothing is an issue" being used to describe our care. It is always nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is cared for and looked after. We hope to continue providing your loved one with the best possible care.
Nice rooms and general areas.
Food could be smaller portions.
Thank you for your kind words. We are very happy to hear you can feel at ease in our care. Your feedback will help us to keep improving the quality of care that we provide.
My Mum has been at the Arkley Care Home for 2 years. She is well looked after & cared for. The care home support staff, nurses & office & activity coordinator are all helpful & friendly. The home manager recently changed & is noticeable better, being very supportive & actively interested in my Mums well being & is helping to encourage my mum to participate more in the various activities, which are well thought out. Mum particularly loves the little dog that comes in regularly & sits on her lap, both dog & owner are a huge hit with Mum, she really looks forward to their visits .. hope this continues :-) The only aspect I am not struck on is the food, I appreciate it must be extremely challenging cooking for senior folk, coupled with so many dietary requirements but it does not look in the least appetising, which is a shame as Mum loved her food prior to being in the home. Overall, we are pleased with the Arkley Care Home, Mum is well cared for we would recommend.
We appreciate you sharing your experience with our home. It's lovely to know that you feel reassured that your Mum is safe and well looked after and feedback like yours inspires us to continue to provide the very best care. We will discuss your feedback with the home's manager to help them continually improve their service.
Nice room, pleasant general surroundings.

The staff and management have always been extremely friendly to me and I've only ever seen them behaving in the same way towards residents. They are approachable and always happy to help. The care home is in very good condition and is always clean. There are lots of activities and events on offer for residents to join in with.
Thank you for your feedback. We are delighted to hear that our team have made a difference to your experience. We're so pleased to hear that you're happy with the facilities at The Arkley. We work hard to ensure our home feels welcoming, comfortable and well cared for. We're pleased to hear that...
Room could do with decorating. Much better since new management has taken over - staff friendly and helpful. Mum is well looked after.
Thank you for your feedback. We are happy to hear that you find our staff to be friendly and helpful. We will certainly pass your comments regarding the room to our management team.
2. However, I have found some clinical support on occasion to be deficient, for example, it took the clinical department 3 months to get an appointment with a local dentist (cannot use public transport), and a similar occurrence occurred in finding a chiropodist.
3. I am all too well aware of budgetary constraints, I find menus to be overweight in carbohydrates (e.g. mashed potato with beef and onion pie, large helpings of flavourless pasta with too little sauce, roast potatoes with mashed!). Meat is usually overcooked and grey in colour. Salads need improvement, lettuce should be shredded, not in long cm-wide strips, cucumber should be sliced (also peppers), not in large chunks. A little amount of vinaigrette would add much flavour and mouthfeel.
4. For a permanent residence, I would probably need a larger room with space for a filing cabinet. Being self funded, rather than reliant upon a company/public service pension, involves a volume of paperwork.
Should you so wish, I would be happy to discuss any of the points raised in person or on the telephone.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. Firstly, it is always nice to hear words like "first class, well groomed, friendly, polite and always ready to help" being used to describe our care. In regard to your further comments, we have a genuine regard for all of our residents. Could you...
This home rates second to none. The quality of care my dad got was five-star. When you walk into the home, a warm, friendly welcome is given. My Dad loved it here. I would recommend this home to anyone who wants to put their loved one into a care home.
Thank you for your kind words. We are very happy to hear you felt at ease with your Dad in our care. Hopefully you will go away from this feeling like your loved one received the best possible care.
I am very pleased with the care and support my dad has received at this care home. A very much warm and friendly atmosphere, the staff are absolutely amazing and they tend to my dad with such care. I am extremely happy with the care he receives and very grateful to all of the team.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. It is always nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is cared for and looked after. It is always nice to hear words like "the staff are absolutely amazing" being used to describe our care. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make your Dad's stay as comfortable as possible.
I don't see my mother often but since new management I feel happy in the knowledge my mother aged 99 is being well cared for. All the staff are friendly and caring and they encourage my mother to leave her room which is not easy due to her hallucinations. Mum's room is clean and tidy. I also notice there are always staff about which is important as I know they are popping in and keeping an eye on her. We recently celebrated Mum's 99th which the staff did beautifully. I feel confident that Mum is being looked after.
Thank you for your lovely review. We are very happy to hear you can feel at ease with your mother in our care. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make Mum's stay as comfortable as possible.
Very friendly staff and manager who have helped my mum settle into the home quickly. Good food, range of activities and always made to feel welcome when visiting.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us your comments. We are very happy to hear you can feel at ease with your Mum in our care at The Arkley Care Home. We hope to continue providing your loved one with the best possible care.
