I am very happy at The Arkley Care Home. I am well looked after and the carers are 'caring' friendly, helpful and willing. The questions below are not always easy to answer e.g, 'activities' - I prefer not to take part in them as I am happy with my computer, TV and books. I don't understand 'facilities' - obviously that is a bedroom (can't use as I'm immobile) and a TV is provided. Also, library books are brought regularly until coronavirus.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback.
I cannot thank the staff and management enough and wouldn’t hesitate in recommending The Arkley.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us such lovely feedback.
My father was very reluctant to enter the care home situation. However, everyone at The Arkley made him feel safe, secure, and welcome. Would highly recommend to anyone thinking of putting a loved one into care.
Thank you for trusting us with your fathers care. We are very glad to hear you can feel at ease while he is looked after.
I know that my mum is in safe hands. It’s easy to tell when people genuinely care.
Keep safe and well.
Best wishes.
Thank you for taking the time to leave such kind comments. We really appreciate it.
Care at the Arkley is consistently good and despite the pressure brought about by the lock-down, staff and management continue to provide a fast and effective response to individuals health needs.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We really appreciate the kind comments.
My grandma has now been a resident of The Arkley for almost a year and a half, we have constantly been updated with everything going on in the home including her well being, medication and just general day-to-day activity. This is so important for us as a family to be connected with the care home and to know that she is in the best possible hands when we cannot be with her. During this coronavirus crisis, the home and all of its staff have gone above and beyond what we or anyone else could have expected with increased communication and video calls whenever it is possible, to allow us all to still feel connected whilst keeping to the strict safety guidelines. That really says it all about the management and staff at this care home, it is not their obligation to put themselves out this much for us, especially in a situation that is taking its toll on all NHS and care workers across the country, yet they still do. We owe so much to all that work there as they really are a fantastic team.
We are very happy to hear you can feel at ease with your grandmother in our care. Thank you for the lovely comments.
The staff at Arkley have been amazing looking after my mother - they are efficient, observant and always exercise empathy and compassion when working with my mother. My mother who suffers from Parkinson’s and is now at end of life however I have some peace of mind because I know how well she is cared for. The care staff have been incredible especially during this pandemic and they are a credit to Bupa. The manager is super-efficient but also highly approachable and will always make time to discuss any concerns I have. I have nothing but praise for all the Arkley staff.
We are so sorry to hear about your mother being on end of life care. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you or your family and thank you for such kind comments.
My partners Nan is in the care of Arkley Care Home. The love, care and support shown to his Nan in the home and to the family is incredible. A huge worry on my partners mind during Covid was him not being able to contact his Nan but this being proven to be the least of his worries now. The manager has provided consistent contact with the family, including video calls so they can all talk and see each other. However busy they must be, nothing ever seems to be a problem. His Nan is treated by all of the amazing staff as family, instead of just a resident in a care home. Each one of you are amazing and cannot be thanked enough.
It is always nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is cared for and looked after. Thank you for the kind words.
My father has been at this home for about 3 years and I have found the level of care to be exemplary. Not only do I feel comfortable that my father is in very good hands so far as his health is concerned but we as a family are kept updated and included in his care plan on a regular basis which is very reassuring. The home is clean, bright, friendly and the staff and management are enthusiastic and responsive.
Thank you for your praise. We are very happy to hear you can feel at ease with your father in our care.
We found the Home very friendly and welcoming. We really felt we were part of a very large family.
The staff were all very caring and conscientious. Patients were treated with love and respect.
We are happy to hear you feel like a part of our Arkley family. Thank you for choosing us for your mother-in-laws care, we hope to see her again in the future!
I cannot recommend this home highly enough, as a family we have peace of mind that mum, gran is in the best place for her complex needs! Well done to everyone at The Arkley.
It is always nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is cared for and looked after. Thank you for the amazing feedback.
The staff at Arkley are the most wonderful, thoughtful amazing men and women. They have looked after my lovely friend who has been in the home for 18 months. My friend's family are also amazingly kind and loving to their mum and grandma. They can all go about their daily life knowing that their mum and grandma is in the best possible hands until they visit her at the end of their busy days. A place that residents can all call home which exceeds all expectations.
Thank you for taking the time to leave such lovely comments, we really appreciate this amazing feedback.
The Arkley Care Home goes above and beyond to look after anyone who is in their care. My grandma has been a resident here for about a year and a half and it was the best decision to bring her here after she couldn't cope with her illness at home. From the first day, they made her feel at home and all the staff were excellent with her and they’re very patient and understanding. They also help us, as a family, with what’s going on with her and reassure us. Another thing they do is put on amazing events for all the residents and activities throughout the week. The Arkley is 10/10.
We are very glad to hear you are satisfied with the quality of your grandmothers care. Thank you for your kind words.
My nan has made special relationships with the staff since being in there and makes us all happy knowing that she is in great hands!
I'm speaking on behalf of my whole family, we cannot thank them enough for what they have done and will carry on doing.
Thank you for such kind comments. We are glad to hear grandmother feels like a part of our Arkley family and you can feel at ease with her in our care.
My sister lived at the Arkley for 12 and a half years, sadly she passed away in December. For most of that time, she was happy for about 8 years. She was able to join in with the activities, knitting, making cards and other craft projects. There were outings that she was able to go on. The last few years my sister became more bedridden due to her disability. The staff were very helpful, kind and patient. I visited most weeks and got to know the staff well. Even when they were very busy, which was most of the time, they always had time for her. Some of the caring was not very nice but they always had a smile for her. If I had any concerns, there was always somebody to talk to. The care was wonderful.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We will discuss your feedback with the home’s manager to help us continually improve our service.
Mum lived at The Arkley for 12 years and was very happy there. The staff, from the young dynamic manager down, are excellent. There is a good energetic vibe in this home to help the residents get the best out of their lives. The activities are excellent and varied if the resident is able to take part in them. Mum loved the flower arranging, art, exercise, games etc. They kept her motivated and happy and helped her integrate and make friends with other residents and staff. The food is good and the home is clean and welcoming. Over the years, the home has had ups and downs but at the moment it is the best it has been and this is all due to the team of staff who currently work there. They are kind, compassionate, understanding, hard-working, thoughtful and caring. After Mum returned from hospital on palliative care, her last days were calm, caring, dignified and pain-free. Thank you, everyone, for working so, so hard when you come to work each day. It is appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time to leave such kind comments. We are very sad about your mothers passing, please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you or your family.
I could not wish for a more caring, comfortable and attractive establishment for my friend in his latter years.
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely review. We are very happy to hear your friend is happy in our care.
Wonderful care and attention for my sister-in-law during her stay and especially during the last few weeks of her life.
Thank you for your kind words. We are saddened to hear about your loss, please let us know if there is anything we can do to help you or your family.
Thanks to all the staff at The Arkley. My mum has been really well looked after and cared for since she moved in. The home is always clean and the staff have helped mum settle in quickly by engaging her in the different activities they run for residents.
Thank you for such lovely feedback. We are very happy to hear your mother is settled well and enjoys taking part in activities.
Very happy with the care my mum received. The staff were fantastic, very caring and mum was made to feel comfortable. Food was good and the home was clean.
Thank you for your kind words. It is always nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is cared for and looked after. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do to make her more comfortable.
