Clare House provides nursing, residential, convalescence and respite care, both short and long term. The majority of bedrooms are en-suite. At Clare House, staff take great care to focus on the person. It’s important for residents to feel at home, so it creates a friendly environment with an individually appropriate balance of care and independence.

Situated in a quiet residential area of Uxbridge, the home, a converted cottage offers residents comfortable, light, spacious bedrooms and lounge areas surrounded by beautiful landscaped gardens. A secluded courtyard and tranquil sensory garden gives residents places to relax and enjoy the views.

The home has good transport links with a regular bus route stopping directly outside the home, not to mention easy access to the M40.

Enjoying food is an important part of life. The chefs create well-crafted menus made with the freshest ingredients and tries to cater for all ethnic groups. Soon after a resident arrives at Clare House, staff discuss their personal preferences and dietary needs with them.

There’s a real sense of community at Clare House. The staff work to discover what residents enjoy doing and the home's social calendar is organised around those interests. So whether a loved one has a hobby or would like to take up a new one, there’s lots of exciting activities to get involved in. Mum lived in Clare House for over 2 years. She was very happy to be there and was cared for brilliantly. She enjoyed the events and afternoon get-togethers playing games, listening to music and the church service, which she appreciated. Clare House is more, much more than just a home; they are a family,
and their kindness and care never waned. Mum was given palliative care towards the end of her life and passed away peacefully. Our appreciation as a family for the support the staff gave us was amazing.

We couldn't have found a better place for my stepdad. Everyone at the home was lovely, kind, engaging, and interested in him.
Once he'd settled in, he really perked up, got involved with his new environment and the activities on offer. His room was great, the staff really looked after him and I know
he was happy there. And he loved the constant offer of tea, cakes and puddings.
I couldn't recommend Clare House highly enough and I'd like to thank everyone who looked after him and supported us.

My wife has been in Clare House for 9 weeks. She has a wonderful room and although unable to walk she is cared for by a great team of dedicated carers, nurses and other staff. The home has a family feel and is very welcoming and cosy. The gardens are wonderful to see and spend time in. My wife has also
enjoyed the regular activities which has helped her progress. Clare House is a special place indeed.

Clare House has caring staff and management everyone always has a smile and says hello nothing is too much for them to do for you they go out of their way above and beyond they are exceptional in every way I know when I go home my sister is being looked after and treated with dignity and respect. Clare House is a lovely old building set in beautiful grounds with about 50 residents at any one time, and caring, well-trained staff - it almost has the feel of a family. The carers, nurses, cooks, housekeeping and caretaker. All work as a team; the focus is on the resident. My husband chose to into
a care home after many months of declining health. We are glad to have found Clare House.

Clare House is a well-managed care home, it is kept clean and tidy to a high standard. The staff are welcoming and polite. The nurses and carers all work in a highly professional manner and show great care and respect to the residents. The food is of a high standard with many choices. They have fun

The home was overall very good for Mum, she was difficult at times but they always smiled.
They tried hard to include her in activities, as she was bedridden and not interested.
She was happy at first and grumpy as her health went bad.

Members of staff were very kind and efficient at all levels. My only criticism would be that both the shower and wet room were out of action - therefore I had to make do with a wash for 2 weeks. I was offered a bath, which was not appropriate because of my hip problem - which is the reason for my stay.

Clare House looked after my mother for a couple of months and both she and the rest of the family were very impressed with the level of care and compassion shown to her. If you are need of care for anyone I cannot recommend Clare House highly enough. Thanks to all of the wonderful team who work there.

I have rated the vast majority of options listed as 'excellent' and am very happy with the care home. One element for consideration is how a deaf resident can be helped to join conversations with other residents and take an active part in activities. For example, making greater opportunities to take
trips out of the home, like by bus or dial-a-ride, would be appreciated.

My family attended the recent garden party at the home. It was wonderful to see all the residents enjoying the afternoon, tapping their feet and clapping their hands to the band. As always all the staff were wonderful. The carers, nursing staff, the canteen staff and the handyman were all enjoying the
afternoon and encouraging the residents. Thank you for the wonderful food and a marvellous tombola which raised money for charity.

My husband was a contented resident at Clare House Care Home for nearly 2 years. He originally went for 3 weeks but settled in so quickly he decided to remain there, and neither of us ever had cause to regret that decision.
The combination of a homely atmosphere combined with efficient and caring
staff, meant that we had complete confidence in the way he was cared for, and the kindness and thoughtfulness shown to all the family was greatly appreciated.

I like it here as there is a free and easy attitude to lifestyle, the carers are very good at looking after me and we all enjoy a laugh and a joke together.
They have done extremely well in managing the Covid situation.

I am very happy here, the carers look after me very well. I enjoy laughing and joking with them.
If you need any shopping there is always someone to do it for you.
It's great coming to the lounge and meeting the other residents and stretching your brain with quizzes.

Jeanette is qualified as a nurse in 1986, initially working on a high dependency surgical ward, moving into elderly care in 1991.


Jeanette moved into care manager roles in 2004 and joined Bupa in 2018.


Jeanette’s main drive and interest is in promoting independence and autonomy for residents.

Amy is one of Our Activities Co-ordinators, she has worked at Clare House for almost 15 years.

Jackie is one of our activities co-ordinators, and she has worked here for almost 3 years.


Jackie has worked in reception in the corporate industry for over 30 years, and volunteers for Lynda Jackson Macmillan centre.


Jackie cares for her mother who is living with dementia, which is what brought her into working in care. As through volunteering and attending dementia groups she had seen the benefits of activities and interactions for elderly people.
