Since my father moved into the care home, his health issues have been managed very well and his overall health has improved significantly. He is thoroughly enjoying the daily care, attention, and support he receives from the staff. The regular entertainment and activities provide excellent physical and mental stimulation, helping him stay engaged and active. Whenever we visit, we are always made to feel very welcome, and it is reassuring to see how happy and well cared for he is.
He is so helpful, understanding and caring when carrying out his work, whilst maintaining a professional manner.
He goes over and above everytime, respecting dads space and interacting directly with him making him feel involved and that his opinion matters (which is so important). To top it all off his work is to a very high standard and he checks in later to make sure dad is happy and everything is working well.
I would also to praise the work of activities team (L & L) who offer both group and personalised one - one activities that are thoughtfully designed around individual needs but above all they are both fun and bring smiles all round which is priceless to see.
Nothing is too much trouble they are very encouraging and supportive to both residents and families.
These ladies are an integral part of NC!

Mum was a little confused the day of her transfer from hospital , but once we had reassured her ,with the help of the staff , she settled .
Mum has now settled into life at Newton Court , she is slowly becoming the lady she was , and with the help from the staff slowly becoming more social , spending abit more time in the lounge , and talking to the other residents and smiling once again.
Newton Court has a warmth about it , it isn't clinical like some carehomes we looked around , it is friendly, it has a heartbeat, and it most definitely feels like home.
Thank you for your lovely review. Going through the process of looking for a care home for a loved one is never easy, but we are so pleased to hear about your positive first impressions of Newton Court. It is heart-warming to hear how your mother is settling in and we are delighted to have her join our Newton Court family. We look forward to seeing you again.
They were all professional and efficient but also caring and friendly. We knew dad was in good hands which took the worry away. We felt comfrotable and weclomed when we visited whatever time of the day. They were sensitive when he died.

When the time came to move her "upstairs" again it was managed - my only gripe at the time of the move was communication was poor.

My husband has been in Newton Court Care Home for over two years and has always been well taken care of. However, after a recent visit to hospital on his return has needed more care and attention which has been exceptional. So very pleased I chose Newton Court. The staff in all departments are always helpful, caring & very pleasant and my grateful thanks go out to each & every one of you. As he is always in the background would also like to mention the maintenance man who is always very supportive.

My mum is happy at being at Newton Court, she has been very well looked after the year that she's been there. The care staff and nursing staff have a great relationship with her. The staff respect my mum's wishes of staying in her room, but she does like having her hair done by the hairdresser.
Thank you for your kind words. It is always nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is cared for and looked after. We hope to continue providing your loved one with the best possible care.
Staff are wonderful. Always a happy atmosphere. Prompt to respond and quick to help. Rooms are a bit shabby but the food is good and varied.

My Mum moved to Newton Court in December last year. My overall experience has been very good and my Mum has settled in very well. The nursing staff and carers who look after my Mum upstairs are exceptional. They go above and beyond. Every time I ask to take my Mum out or have her ready for a particular occasion. If there are any problems the nurses go out of their way to sort it out straight away. The atmosphere upstairs is always very friendly.

My dad is well cared for and looks clean and tidy when I visit. Nothing is too much trouble. The entertainment that they put on is great, also the activities they do with the residents are great. Staff are always polite and understanding and will help you if you should have any issues.

My dad is very settled and happy and has been at Newton Court for a year now. He has a nice room, and we can add personal touches to make him feel at home. The staff are lovely with Dad and have a bit of banter with him, which is lovely to see. They are always kind and considerate of his needs, and this makes him feel settled and safe in such a caring environment. The home is always clean, and the reception area is always welcoming. Dad sometimes engages in the activities they have to offer. He enjoys his food and has a lovely selection of meals, which he enjoys. It's taken a huge stress off myself and my mum, and I can't thank the team enough for everything they do for Dad.

Last year my mother-in-law sadly had to go into care due to age and care needs. She has settled well and seems okay with it now, of course, it was not what we would have missed for her but she seems okay with things.
Thank you for your kind words. We are glad to help you and your family through such a difficult time. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make your mother-in-law's stay as comfortable as possible.
Staff are very friendly and approachable. My mum doesn't make friends easily so it's nice that they have entertainment on for all the residents to join in. The food is good and she enjoys it most of the time. They now have outings on and they have been to Hopley House which she really enjoyed. Hopefully, there will be more as she loves to get out and about.
Thank you for your lovely review. We are very happy to hear you can feel at ease with your mum in our care. We hope to continue providing your loved one with the best possible care.
My mum is very happy at this care home. She finds the staff happy, friendly and helpful to her. Sometimes she doesn't think the staff at night are as good. She thinks the food has improved. My mum's needs seem to be being met very well in this care home with caring and professional staff. She likes chatting with the staff best. Her room is clean and seems to meet her needs. If my mum is happy - I am happy.

Kind, caring staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Mum has stayed here at Newton Court several times now and I wouldn't want her to stay anywhere else. Staff ensure her needs are met and Mum enjoys her time here. Staff encouraged her to join in activities. Can't wait for the next stay.

Meet the Team (5)

My career in the care sector dates back more than twenty years. It started in the NHS before my passion for occupational health drew me into CIPD in management, and eventually to a role with Bupa clinics. Overall, I've been with Bupa for 15 years.
My role blends all the different skills I've learned in my career to date, from compliance to care and empathy. Every day is different, though, and I ultimately have overall responsibility for everything, from the health and safety of the team to the happiness and well-being of the people that live here.
I'm surrounded by a really established team, almost like a family, and I think that in itself makes sure that Newton Court feels like a home first and foremost. It gives me great pride and motivation knowing that the team are in a position to make someone's life the best it could possibly be.

I joined Bupa in 2020. I am originally from Africa and have lived in England for 25 years.

I had previous experience as a private chef in London before I joined the team here at Newton Court. I enjoy making healthy and nutritious meals for residents.

I've worked at Newton Court for 5 years. I first started as a residential care worker, then I moved onto activities, where I found my forever job. I just love making residents happy with different activities - from their favourite games, organising a variety of events and entertainment, to one-to-one conversations with a cup of tea. It really makes my day when residents tell me how much they enjoy our activities.

I joined Bupa 4 years ago as a Senior Carer before moving into the Maintenance Operative role, which I love.
I enjoy maintaining Newton Court to help improve the home for our residents to live in comfort.
