My opinion of my living here is generally satisfactory - it is age that I find a nuisance! Meals get rather boring: all the staff can provide a bit of humour except night staff (just one or two who are sometimes a little brusqite) I cant complain!
Reply from Alison Horridge, Customer Advisor on behalf of the team at The Goldbridge Care HomeThank you for your feedback. We will certainly pass your comments about the night staff and food on to the management team as we strive to provide the best possible standards in our home.

My mother's siblings arranged to visit her. I asked if a sandwich lunch could be arranged for the 5 of them. My aunts and uncle said they had a lovely visit with lots of laughter and reminiscing. The Goldbridge laid a lovely table and the lunch was perfect. My aunt commented on how good the cake was:-)
When
I visited mum a couple of days later, she said she'd really enjoyed their visit and the lunch. Thankyou to everyone who made this a special event for my mum.

Having had a tumour removed in April 2025 my 2 daughters and son decided I would be looked after in Goldbridge.
Their thoughts have worked out well, as I am flawed with my stay here, in fact, contented sums up my overall feeling. The staff and management seem to look over and I believe a lot goes into
the activities to ensure the residents are well looked after.
Whilst my medical condition is life-changing, I am very well looked after. Thank you Goldbridge.

The care team (including the experience manager) have made my brother's time in The Goldbridge as positive as it could be. They show compassionate care to him and treat him with dignity at all times. They never forget that, despite his Alzheimer's, he is a human being with the potential for feeling
content or not content. His other sister and niece (all three of us are attornies) are so grateful to The Goldbridge.

Lovely staff, always happy to help and assist with any requirements. Nan is very happy, feels safe and looked after, which is all we want. Care staff understanding, helpful and treated with dignity. Nursing staff excellent, well-versed in each individual's medical needs. Despite being consistently in demand and under pressure all staff work hard to meet residents' needs and wishes. Food good but with some strange combinations, attention
needed to food temperature when served. Activities staff provide reasonable range of activities. Thoughtful and mindful of individual's capabilities. A reasonably 'happy' comfortable environment where all members of staff work toward the benefit of the residents.

My mother is very happy at the Goldbridge Care Home. The management and staff are incredibly, kind, caring and thoughtful. They go over and above to ensure she has the best life she can. Her visitors have always received a warm welcome and her dog is allowed to visit her too. On her big birthday the
staff decorated her room organised a special party. It was amazing, she had a wonderful time.
The home has a very pretty garden with lots of plants, seating and fairy lights. Residents are encouraged to use the outdoor space. It is a lovely place for residents to socialise.
The activities team are absolutely fantastic. They arrange many different activities and events to cater for a wide range of people with different interests. Where possible residents are given the opportunity to continue with their hobbies e.g. playing the keyboard, knitting, quizzes, gardening, bingo, painting etc.
Based on our experience, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Goldbridge Care Home.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.389)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.389) out of 10 for The Goldbridge Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.4 out of 5 from 27 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 26 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.389 for The Goldbridge Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (166 Excellents x 5) + (116 Goods x 4) + (27 Satisfactorys x 3) + (5 Poors x 2) + (2 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 316 Ratings = 4.389
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Goldbridge Care Home is based on 26 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 64 registered maximum number of service users is 12.8, which has been reached with 26 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
