I have a lovely room, with lots of space. The carers cannot be faulted, but they are often unable to help as they want to, there are not enough of them.
Midmorning and midafternoon drinks aren't always available.
I have great faith that the new management team will make a big difference once
it is well established.
Reply from Grace Langfield, Customer Service Adviser at The Goldbridge Care HomeThank you for taking the time to leave your review. We hope the carers did everything they could to make the transition as easy as possible for you. My father spent his last ten days at The Godlbridge. For the most part, we were very happy about the care given to him, particularly during his final few days. The staff were wonderful and caring, and nothing was too much trouble. The staff did all they could to support us as a family, as well as looked
after my mother when she chose to sit with my dad all night!
Reply from David Mclean, Customer Service Adviser at The Goldbridge Care HomeThank you for your kind words. We are saddened to hear about your loss. It is always nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is cared for and looked after. We hope The Goldbridge Care Home did everything possible to make the transition as easy as possible. Hopefully, you will go away from this feeling like your loved one received the best possible care.

My mother moved to The Goldbridge in March and the care and support she is receiving is first class. All the staff are excellent and constantly demonstrate a desire to care and support the residents. The home is clean, tidy and very well maintained and Mum has settled in really well - thank you to the
staff for making a very difficult time leaving a home of 40 years so much easier. Special mention for the activities programme which is very varied and provides so many opportunities for the residents to have fun, interact and enjoy themselves. The setting is excellent with lovely gardens and a park right next door. Would recommend it without hesitation.

What a lovely care home. All the staff are so caring and professional and it's a pleasure to visit. The building is modern, purpose-built clean and well maintained. My mother has been at The Goldbridge for nearly a year now and is well settled and happy. We are very pleased with the choice of home we

My mother-in-law has been at The Goldbridge for nearly five months now. She is loving it here and likes the food. She is telling me they can't stop filling me up with drinks, which is a very good thing as they keep her hydrated. The staff are friendly, nothing is too much for them to do. Always helpful,
from moving into the Goldbridge, up until today she has improved her mental health. Her appetite is very good. I am pleased that we have her at The Goldbridge

My father was admitted seven years ago with early Alzheimers. He has gradually deteriorated and is now in the late stage of the disease. Throughout, he has received excellent and compassionate care. As a nurse, I know just how difficult it can be, especially now. I am extremely grateful for the care
Dad has received.

We moved my mother to the Goldbridge in February from a previous care home. We are delighted with the care and the kindness that she receives. She has only good things to say about the staff. The home and the gardens are well maintained and the standard of cleanliness is high. We appreciate all the
hard work that the staff have carried out to keep residents safe during this pandemic.

This is a difficult review to write, as there are two contradictory aspects of this place.
Let's start with the awful. So awful that I'm thankful my father has moved to another care home. They ran out of Parkinson's medication! This is the worst possible situation for a Parkinson's patient. And
upon complaining to them they did not take any responsibility and have not corrected anything to prevent it from happening again.
Now the good. The front-line staff are lovely, well-meaning and do what they can to provide care and support. The building is also great, each room well appointed and comfortable.
All in all a great place if your relative does not require medication.
Reply from Emily Wilson, Customer Advisor on behalf of the team at The Goldbridge Care HomeFirstly, thank you for taking the time to review The Goldbridge and thank you for your compliments to our team and the home’s environment.
We’re sorry to read your review about your father’s medication. We are aware that your complaint was addressed by our Operations Team and escalated to the medication provider and we would like to apologise again and reassure you that we have put necessary steps in place to ensure this does not happen again.

My parents stayed for a short respite break, and despite the short time we had to arrange this stay, it was easy to deal with the group and the local care home to match needs with the available service and accommodation. The care home took over the health provisions from being out in the community to
inhouse seamlessly, and they were able to take my folks to NHS outpatients appointments, even in this covid tiered lockdown. I was very impressed with the easy to deal with the manor of the organization and availability of staff to arrange care. I would and have already recommended the group and this care home to people with similar needs.

My sister spent six months in The Goldbridge Care Home receiving palliative care from May this year. We felt totally confident that she was well looked after both medically and in her everyday needs, including a daily paper and beer. Her room was comfortable and the staff we had contact with, especially
the Resident Experience Manager, were caring and considerate in their efforts to keep her comfortable and her spirits up during this difficult Covid period. Thank you to all the staff. We would definitely recommend this home to others.

Most of my experience at The Goldbridge was joyful! The carers were all friendly and kind. Also, very important to me, every effort was made to allow my wife to visit safely under the lockdown restrictions and all the members of staff made her feel as welcome as it was possible to be whilst outside.
In spite of my various ills, you gave me a glorious birthday!

In the year my mother was resident at The Goldbridge, I couldn’t fault the attention and care she was given. The attitude and love the staff had for her was evident when I visited the UK twice last year from Australia, and when calling to speak to her, I was so impressed by the speed and efficiency
with which I was connected. With the time difference, I couldn’t avoid their busiest time of day but it was never a problem. The resident experience manager went way beyond the call of duty, singing with Mum so I could watch on FaceTime! Something I shall always treasure! I also applaud their handling of the current covid crisis, keeping all informed regularly. We were really fortunate to secure Mum a place and she spent a happy final year in their excellent care.

After visiting The Goldbridge Care Home, we felt it would be the ideal place for my Mum for a respite stay. Unfortunately, she was admitted to hospital before she could try it. She was discharged from hospital during the COVID Pandemic directly to The Goldbridge. They were excellent with the care and
consideration given to Mum during the difficult time for all care homes. She spent 2 weeks in their quarantine unit before she was admitted permanently to the care home. She now has a lovely room and is very well cared for by dedicated staff. We are kept up to date with the information available from the home and are very pleased we chose The Goldbridge.

The Goldbridge Care home is wonderfully friendly, kind and family-oriented. Nothing is too much to ask for. The staff know every resident by name and their personal likes/dislikes. The Manager and Deputy Manager are fully involved with all aspects of running the home which includes entertaining residents
and supporting their staff in their work. My Mum has been very happy since moving in and wouldn’t want to be cared for in any other home. Highly recommend. They are also responsive to any concerns, queries etc with prompt attention.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.389)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.389) out of 10 for The Goldbridge Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.4 out of 5 from 27 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 26 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.389 for The Goldbridge Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (166 Excellents x 5) + (116 Goods x 4) + (27 Satisfactorys x 3) + (5 Poors x 2) + (2 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 316 Ratings = 4.389
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Goldbridge Care Home is based on 26 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 64 registered maximum number of service users is 12.8, which has been reached with 26 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

I love to see the residents and staff enjoying the food that we have cooked.

Outside of work, I live with my husband and two of my three grown-up children. I love to travel and Southeast Asia is top of my list. I’ve been to Thailand many times as well as Laos, Cambodia and Bali. I am looking forward to visiting India later this year.
