My mum was at Fountains Lodge 2 years. During that time, she was treated with dignity, respect, kindness and love. Everything you would want for your loved one. The staff at Fountains Lodge are amazing. While mum was at Fountains Lodge she made friends, meaning she had company in the evenings and people to have meals with. The food is excellent. All home cooked. Sadly, at the end of my mum's life, she had to go into palliative care. But thankfully this did not mean that she had to go to hospital. She was able to stay at Fountain Lodge, a place she knew, and be looked after by people who genuinely cared for her. At the end, when mum no longer wanted to eat, but fancied a "bit of ice cream" she was kept in a plentiful supply. Nothing was too much trouble. I also felt looked after at this very difficult time. I was offered food and drink, and always asked if there was anything I needed. If a time comes when I need to be looked after in a care home, I only hope that Fountains Lodge still exist, as good as it is now.

My experience from the beginning was positive - felt the calm and welcoming atmosphere as soon as I walked through the door. Greeted by helpeful and reassuring management and reception especially. My husband has a lovely room with a garden view and is very well cared for by friendly and kind staff. In addition, staff in other activities such as laundry, and activities, and catering all are such nice people. Thank you for making a difficult situation so much easier.

Mother who has Alzheimer's , I found fountain lodge the best . I noticed how caring and professional the staff was and the interaction was fantastic they knew all the residents names . The activity staff make a huge effort with every resident to try and involve them and to make there day better with so many different things to stimulate them. Management were particularly helpful
To my mother's needs and provided
her with the best location and room which was very spacious and clean and she felt content and happy with. Like home from home. They have a wonderful garden to provide bbq s and fetes in the summer for all residents to enjoy one another's company and make new friends. Catering staff have been wonderful providing mum with fantastic food and yummy cake ! And even a sneaky non alcoholic beverage . James the Maintance man was so willing to help with mum's decor in her room. Overall I can't fault fountain lodge even down to the cleaners .
Thank you for your lovely review. It is always so nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is well cared for. We will certainly pass on your lovely feedback to all the staff involved in your Mum's care. Thank you again for choosing Fountains Lodge.
We did have quite a few issues initially with laundry which now seems to have resolved itself, but at the time was very stressful. Whilst the food is very good and nutritious and care is taken when presented to residents - it does seem that what is advertised is often not what is served to residents and sometimes it is not just one course but all three - which is disappointing especially when you discuss prior to dinner what the person is going to be eating on that day. On one occasion my father was given a corn beef sandwich despite the fact he is a pescatarian- when we enquired about it a response by one staff member was "he chose it". We did feel that we needed to point out that my father had dementia and although he might have chosen it he would not really know what it was and felt that more care could have been shown in terms of encouraging a different choice. As a consequence the sandwich was not eaten which meant he didn't have lunch as he didn't like it.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us your feedback regarding the meals your Father has been provided with. We will discuss this with the home's manager to help them continually improve their service.
Fountains Lodge is modern, airy, light, clean and well laid out. The staff are very professional, give good feedback, are very caring and observant. The activities are very varied, the food excellent, and the gardens safe and well laid out.

We have just recently moved my father in-law into this home wow what can I say , it's the best thing we ever done , the staff go out there way for residents and their visitors . My father inlaw was very distressed what with moving one home to another . Fountains has regained his confidence which we are so pleased . Thank you so much to each and everyone of the staff
Thank you for your kind words. We are so happy that we were able to help your Father in Law settle into his new home quickly. We hope to continue providing him with the best possible care.
My mother-in-law has been living at Fountains Lodge for nearly 3 years. She arrived in a very poorly state and since that day, with the care and expertise of the staff, at nearly 88 is in the best spirits and health she can be at this great age! She is happy and content and considers Foundtains Lodge as home, and is always happy to go back after a day out with the family. We cannot thank everyone enough for their love, respect, care and fun, which makes Fountains the lovely home it is.

Mam seems to have settled into Fountains Lodge, although her memory and understanding of what is happening is deteriorating quickly. The staff seems caring and compassionate, and if there is a problem, they will try to deal with it.

My mum-in-law arrived at Fountains Lodge in February 2024 after a very stressful few weeks in hospital only to be told she sadly didn't have long we were lucky enough for a room becoming available and close to family too. The care home itself is lovely, it's bright, plenty of space, the rooms are decorated nicely and it was clean. We settled my mum-in-law in and staff could not have been more accommodating and helpful and kind too as obviously it was stressful for everyone. Well 15 months on and we have sadly just lost my mum-in-law so that time originally given went on far longer than was expected and Fountains lodge became my second home, as visited most days. The staff have been outstanding, not only looking after their resident but us as a family too and right up to the very end their kindness and support has meant a great deal. They have kept us informed right from the start and provided outstanding care from the nurses, carers, catering staff, activity staff to office / reception

I am extremely happy with the care my dad has received at Fountains. He is happy, content and settled, and when I visit him, he is always excited to tell me what he has been doing. The warmth of the staff, along with their caring and professional manner, is first class. They are supportive of my dad and welcoming and friendly to me and my family. Would recommend Fountains to anyone looking for a care home.
