A well run care home, with excellent, friendly staff, that respect the residents and relations. They are always busy, but nothing is too much trouble. Reception staff are very helpful and welcoming - as all the staff are.
Feel that my mum is safe and well cared for, my only constructive feedback is
that mum's room is very dark and needs decor brightening up.

Overall the home and staff are excellent. Our mum has a dark room as there is a large tree immediately opposite her window - The tree needs cutting back! The staff are always helpful and treat mum with care and kindness.

We are happy with the care and support. The staff are very caring. All the staff speak and show interest in the resident, it means a lot to know that mum is being looked after by caring staff and that she is so happy. The food has greatly improved, it was the one thing that was letting the home down.
The bedroom and bathroom (toilet/sink) could do with modernising, e.g. carpet, curtains, painting - nice soft towels.
Reply from Natasha Burns-Leigh, Customer Service Advisor at Ashby Court Care HomeWe appreciate you sharing your experience with our home. Providing peace of mind for families is one of our top priorities, so your words mean a lot. We will certainly pass on your feedback to the home's manager to help them continuously improve their service.

My mother has been resident in Ashby Court since January 2026 and has been looked after very well. This has helped her to settle in well, and whilst I would not go as far as to say she is enjoying her "new" life because of the excellent care and attention, she appears quite happy.
As a visitor it
is good that there are no restrictions on times, and I always feel welcomed by all staff.

My father has only been with Bupa for a matter of weeks, but it has been a resounding success so far. Bupa listen to the family, they make allowance for my father. I think that they can be a little too generous at times, but this is all part of learning my father's wishes. Compared to the home he was
in, the staff seem super responsive and above all else, my father is happy, which is the most important thing. Finally, Bupa is cheaper than the place he came from, which is a pleasant bonus. I'd have no hesitation in recommending Bupa.

Some staff are great. The upkeep of the room varies, some are recently decorated some are not with flaking paint and stained carpets. Some of the room's radiators don't work which means in the winter you have to have the doors open to the room to get heat from the corridors. This means you have no privacy
in the winter. We have been waiting 8 months for my parent's room to be made decent. I have spoken to the management team on numerous occasions about this for nothing to have been done.

We are so grateful to everyone at Ashby Court Care Home for the care and compassion they've shown my Grandma. From the very beginning, the staff have treated her with dignity, kindness, and genuine warmth, which has meant the world to our family.

I especially want to mention Shinette - she is a truly

fantastic lady who puts her whole heart into her job. She goes above and beyond not just for the residents, but for their families too. She always makes us feel welcome, reassured, and valued whenever we visit. Her dedication and positive attitude never go unnoticed.

Thank you for everything you do - it makes such a difference.

With emotions running high due to having to make the heartbreaking decision that mother was to go to a care home on a permanent basis, the while staff made the trasition easier with their care and understanding. Personal items make her rooom 'home', staff encourage mother to meet other residents for
a chat or take part in activities. Staff are very attentive with nothing too much trouble. We know mother is safe and happy, being looked after by professional staff, who keep us informed of how she is, our lives have also been much improved. Thank you everyone at Ashby Court Care Home.

Mum has been a resident for 2 months. I have been very pleased with the care she has received on the nursing wing. The nurses regularly update me on her health and well-being. The care team are also excellent. Any health concerns have been flagged to her GP or the out of hours team swiftly to ensure
necessary medications or treatments are started without delay.
Overall the experience has been excellent and mum has settled well.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.546)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.546) out of 10 for Ashby Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 38 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 37 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.546 for Ashby Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (278 Excellents x 5) + (141 Goods x 4) + (18 Satisfactorys x 3) + (7 Poors x 2) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 445 Ratings = 4.546
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ashby Court Care Home is based on 37 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12, which has been reached with 37 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
