Ashby Court offers a wide range of care, including residential, nursing, dementia, convalescence and day care. The home also offers care to those living with Parkinson’s.

This purpose-built property has been designed with spacious lounge and dining areas, and residents are able to relax and unwind in scenic gardens that include tranquil water features, fruit trees and raised flower beds.

Bedrooms have en-suite facilities and have benefitted from refurbishment, with 24-hour call systems throughout.

Freshly prepared meals are tailored to individual diet and preference, with some ingredients coming from the home’s own vegetable patch and herb garden. Residents can choose to take meals in the privacy of their own rooms or in the dining room.

The activity programme aims to keep residents active and includes carpet bowls, bingo, arts and crafts and films. Local entertainers visit often and day trips are arranged to local sights.

Every time I have phoned or visited Ashby Court I have been struck by the kindness and positive attitude of the staff. It is a huge comfort to know that my uncle is being well cared for and is happy. A first-rate home staffed by first-rate carers.

My father has been a resident on the dementia unit for 12 months. The staff are very patient with him, which as a family we value highly. Both personal hygiene and the cleanliness of the room is excellent; dad is always nicely dressed and shaved. The home's approach to Covid has been great, keeping
Dad safe through the peak of the pandemic. Although the weekly charges are higher than other homes we viewed, you receive the level of care you pay for.

I have been in the care home for eleven months now and am well looked after. Staff cannot do enough for you. They take care of our welfare and you could not ask for more.

This care home is the only one I have stayed in but I doubt it could be bettered. The food is excellent and the nurses and carers second to none. I would highly recommend this Bupa Care Home to anyone wanting their loved ones to be well fed and well looked after.

My mother went into Ashby Court care Home in December 2019. Although she wasn't in there long the support and care she received from the management and staff was exceptional. The home itself was to a very high standard and rooms were spotless and had a warm homely feeling.
I would definitely recommend
this home.

My mum has been in Ashby Court Care Home for two and a half years and it's an amazing place. The staff and management are all excellent and very caring with her. Mum is in lockdown at Ashby Court and the manager had the forethought to lockdown early to keep the residents and staff safe in these uncertain
times. I have regular photos and updates sent to me about Mum which is so reassuring. Ashby Court is a fantastic home for Mum.

We as a family have nothing but admiration for the way my husband was cared for in Ashby Court.

Since my mum moved into Ashby Court, which was December 2019, she was initially for respite care. After a fall at home, she lost her confidence and was unable to walk. Since day one she was welcomed into the home. The staff couldn't do enough for Mum, getting her back onto her feet and walking again
with her frame, she is more like her old self, has made new friends and is enjoying getting her life back. She knows she only has to ring her call bell and somebody will answer, always with a smiling and friendly face and even a cup of tea. She joins in with all the different activities from painting, baking and even potted some plants. At the moment carers arrange Facetime with her family and even though it upsets her, she enjoys doing this. She has now made the decision to stay permanently at Ashby Court. She says it is her second home and it was the best decision she made to live there. The staff are friendly and welcoming and always around when needed.

In November 2019 my mother-in-law had a fall at home and fractured her left hip, went into hospital for two to three weeks, went home to her bungalow and had carers at home to begin with. But on Christmas Day we all sat down and made the decision for Mum to go to Ashby Court, initially for respite care
but she loved it so much that she decided to stay permanently. She has made loads of friends and is now back on her feet and walking independently with her frame and loves joining in with all the activities. She always has a smile on her face, the staff are always smiling and friendly, offering you a drink when you come to visit. Mum can be a little fussy on what she likes to eat but the variety of food at Ashby Court is always delicious. She has her own little snack box in the lounge with her name on, which we fill up for her, even though she can have a snack in between meals anytime. Her appetite has increased and she has put on weight. She even has her budgie in her room, who is happily chirping away on a daily basis.

My aunt had been cared for at Ashby Court for the last three years of her life. She sadly died this month after suffering a stroke from which she did not recover. She decided herself when she was 90 that she would like to be looked after and really enjoyed her time at Ashby Court. Most importantly she
felt safe and enjoyed eating her meals in the restaurant with other residents.

A Home within a Care Home.
From May 2017, Dad has since passed but mum is still with us in the nursing dementia unit. I can honestly say that I have never seen anything that concerned me - if I had/did I would speak out.
Why is Ashby Court a 'Home' within a Care Home? Briefly: Visiting is not restricted
and always welcomed. The food they serve is really fresh as they understand a good diet is important to maintaining good health. Everything with the decor is 'researched' beforehand to 'achieve the best experience for the residents', there is nothing institutionalised as it is all so well thought out. Along with activities/events/trips, they will go beyond, like skype weddings and shopping gifts for residents who can't make the journey. The staff are a good team, aware for many residents it is their long term home where they can feel at ease, be treated with respect and retain individuality.

Two weeks respite for dad has put him back into a more positive mode, given him company, especially for meals. The staff have been caring, considerate and welcomed us all into being involved. Mum moved into Ashby Court in 2015 and has thrived on their exceptional care. Everyone at the home works hard as a team member to look after residents and care for their individual needs. We have now moved home and during the time before we could relocate her to a suitable place near to where we now
live, I have been really pleased with how happy mum has been. Her Ashby ‘family’ have been so kind and understand her complex needs and behaviours, they really do help families to cope with this chapter of their relative's life.

Staff efficient and very helpful. Enjoy entertainment and trips organised with the group. Made friends and enjoy children from various schools coming to visit. Complaints very readily dealt with.

It is always a worry when you have someone so young who needs to have the care that your home provides. However, that worry has lessened by a huge degree as the care that my daughter has had has been wonderful. The staff are amazing with her and try to make her feel really at home and treat her more
like a friend than a resident. I could not be happier with her care and she has settled into life here very well.
