At Ashley House, a caring and professional team provide personalised care for adults with long or short-term care needs, as well as offering convalescence, palliative and respite care.

Located in the picturesque town of Cirencester, the purpose-built home offers a high level of comfort and all bedrooms have en-suite wet rooms and a 24 hour call system. The main lounge looks out onto pretty gardens and has comfortable seating for socialising, while a library and smaller lounge offer residents the opportunity to enjoy some quiet time.

Ashley House is committed to providing tasty and appealing food. The on-site chef caters for all dietary requirements, and uses only fresh ingredients.

Residents have the use of an activities room and art workshops, while outings and musical entertainment are all regular parts of the activity programme, as is flower arranging and gardening.

I visited on a sunny afternoon in spring. The courtyard garden was lovely and well cared for. The individual balconies are charming with high-quality furniture and surfaces. The room I saw was personal and really as good as it could be for a wheelchair-bound person. Very friendly staff, competent managers, a range of activities and some imaginative touches. Great location - there a welcoming pub/restaurant next door. It seems as good as it can be for those in need.

My mother-in-law has been treated extremely well since the moment she walked through the door as have me and my children. Always made to feel welcome by everyone. Since moving here, my mother-in-law has been a lot happier, healthier, cleaner and more sociable which has been noticed by all of the relatives. She joins in with the activities and enjoys being her at Ashley House. The best move we ever made for her!

Much improved since I had care there 3 years ago. When I had a complaint about staff it was dealt with at once and quite satisfactorily. Manager and staff friendly and most were kind and helpful.
Some meals could have improvement but overall, food edible and cool willing to make changes for individuals.

Thank you for your review. I'm so pleased to hear that your father is well cared for. It must give you peace of mind knowing this, and that if there were any issues, that they are solved as soon as possible.

Since my husband was admitted to Ashley House I have found the staff to be friendly and they always have time to stop and talk. The nursing staff are caring and proactive. The activities organised are relevant and fun.

Thank you for your review. It is the little things like having a chat with the staff that makes all the difference.

Mum went into the care home after a stroke. A subsequent stroke gave her not much chance of survival. However she managed a further 18 months, with a relatively good quality of life, thanks to all the care and support she received. The carers were exceptional in how they brightened up her day, always chatty and making her feel special and well cared for.

The room was originally booked for respite care, however, Mum's condition deteriorated prior to staying but no fuss was made and the home agreed to treat Mum without fuss and made her comfortable, stable and able to receive treatment straight away. The nursing staff were particularly brilliant with my welfare also being treated as important. So hats off to them!

I came in for a short convalescence. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times. The home is comfortable and well-run, with a friendly atmosphere. Food was a bit variable in quality but showed a good variety of dishes. If I ever need a care home I would have no hesitation in coming here.

My husband arrived at the home, very seriously ill. The staff were marvellous with him. They treated him with dignity and were in constant contact with him to ensure he had everything he needed - from basic care, correct medication to some treats!

My mother suffers from moderate/severe dementia and has been at Ashley House for over a year now. From the first week mum arrived we were warmly welcomed by all the staff and made to feel very wanted. Mum wasn't an easy person to settle but everyone gave us all the encouragement and assistance that we could possibly need and we all became part of the caring family very quickly. The support from all the staff and management team are second to none.

When I first arrived, a tall man was on duty and was an excellent companion for the first hours. I think he was from Madagascar, one of the few places I had not visited, although I had lived in India and East Africa for many years. The other day staff were all friendly and understanding. The cleaner (a Scot like me) was very kind and nice.

My 93-year-old mother-in-law sold her house and was living with her daughter. This didn't work out and she came for a short stay to see how she got on. She was well cared for and helped through a period of anxiety. I'm sure we will use the care home services again.

Independence is promoted and activities are catered to suit individual interests that we then try to encourage others to take part in and enjoy too. Baking cookies I have to say is my favourite … the smell is intoxicating but they don’t last long!

Arts and Crafters and Biscuit Bakers are more than welcome to come and stay with us.

We are perfectly located in the heart of Cirencester to enjoy its outstanding architectural beauty, retail therapy and abundance of coffee shops to tell everyone that you have visited, though my coffee pot is always on and won’t cost you anything! ? But of course nothing beats a nice stroll through the Abbey Grounds on a bright day.

Care Home Idol 2016

There are currently no Care Home Idol entrants who have performed at Ashley House Care Home
