We provide nursing and residential care. Please contact us for latest vacancies.
I have worked at Bupa since 2022. I started in August 2022 as Deputy Manager (Non-Clinical). I become Interim Home Manager in January 2024 and was appointed Home Manager in May 2024.
I have worked in the Health and Social Care sector for the past 16 years. During this time, I have worked within hospital settings, the ambulance service, residential and nursing homes. I have done clinical roles within the ambulance service and then onto operational management and home management roles.
I would say the biggest thing I enjoy most about working in care services is seeing the impact you can have on someone and improving their quality of life. Also, how no day is the same and enjoy every challenge along the way. To support and empower my team to do well and progress.
I live in Southampton, not too far from Northlands House. I live with my partner and 2 children. My children keep me busy outside of work and our Springer spaniel who is now 18 months called Willow.
We enjoy going on holiday abroad when we can – most recently been to Mexico.
I began working at Bupa as a senior health care assistant, a role I held for nearly three years. After taking a short break to complete my adult nursing degree, I returned to Bupa as a Registered Nurse. Although my background is originally in business — having owned a fast food outlet and a car park in my home country, Romania — I realised I wanted a career that offered deeper fulfilment and personal satisfaction.
In 2016, I decided to leave Romania for a fresh start and moved to Poole, Dorset. This was the first time I was introduced to the concept of care, as nursing homes, as we know them, do not exist in my native country. I learned everything from scratch and quickly became fascinated by the involvement, dedication, and compassion shown by everyone working in care — from housekeeping and kitchen teams to nurses, carers, families, and all other departments.
Working in care means working with people, for people. In this environment, the genuine love for our communities shines through. There are always opportunities to improve and adapt to people’s needs, and I love that when we work together, we see real results.
Working in care fulfils my soul and makes me a better person with every day that passes. Bringing a smile to my residents absolutely makes my day — I’m known for joking a lot!
On a personal note, I have been happily married for 12 years and am the proud mum of a beautiful 9-year-old daughter, Eva. We also have a little Pomeranian called Alma, who you will probably see around me often. I live about a 20-minute drive away (on a good day without traffic!).
My name is Catia an I am the Deputy Manager at Northlands House. I joined Bupa in November 2017 as a care assistant and, over the years, have proudly progressed to senior carer and now deputy manager. I have been in this role since September 2024 and feel incredibly grateful to be part of the Northlands family.
My journey into care began when I moved to England on the 1st April 2016 to work as a live in carer. That experience helped me grow both personally and professionally and sparked my passion for learning more about health and social care. Before moving into the care sector, I spent many years working in banking as a bank teller/cashier and later as a customer account manager. I have always enjoyed helping people, supporting them through challenges, and making a positive difference to their day — values that continue to guide me in my role today.
Throughout my time at Northlands House, I have loved getting to know our residents, listening to their stories, and supporting them to feel comfortable, valued, and happy. Even small actions can make a huge difference, and it brings me joy to help someone smile or feel at ease. Caring for others is truly rewarding, and I am proud of the work we do here as a team.
I live just five minutes away with my partner and our little daughter, who is four years old. Family time is very important to me — we enjoy exploring new towns, driving to the beach at weekends, or going for peaceful walks in the New Forest. In my spare time, I also like to relax, listen to music, and watch TV.
I began my career with Bupa in 2015 as a Care Assistant at Northlands House. In 2022, I became an Activities Co-ordinator at the home.
I was inspired to work in the care sector after my Nana moved into a care home. They were so good with her, we knew she was having a lovely time and was so well cared for. I always said I wanted to help people and provide the same reassurance and comfort that my Nana had.
Knowing your loved one is safe and happy is crucial. I also love getting to know people, chatting and hearing people's life stories, which our residents love to do also - so the role is just perfect for me.
My favourite part of the role is all the fun we have. A simple silly moment can lead to real belly laughs. Knowing our residents feel safe and are well cared for is my priority.
I live very local to Northlands House, work is practically on my doorstep.
I started a little book club at the start of this year with my friend where we read a new book every 2 weeks which I’ve been enjoying.
I love listening to music and singing (or trying to!) - I love a good pub quiz, too!
I joined Bupa in 2019, initially as a housekeeper before moving to my current role in the activities team.
What I enjoy most about working in care services is the feeling of knowing I have made a positive impact on the day to day lives of our residents. Making other people happy brings me a lot of satisfaction, as does working with a brilliant team.
I live in Southampton, not too far from Northlands House with my partner and three daughters. My children keep me busy outside of work. I really enjoy family weekends together and love going on day trips to new places, creating special memories.
I have worked at Northlands House since 2022, and my roles currently include being the Receptionist at the home, and Activities Co-ordinator where I organise and lead activities and events for our residents and their families and friends to attend.
Prior to my role beginning in 2022, I didn't have experience in the care sector. After my Father passed away, I felt inspired by the care he received and I decided I wanted to make a difference in people's lives. Activities coordinator is the perfect role for bringing fun and laughter to someone's day. Seeing our residents smile is what I enjoy most about my job.
I live in Mansbridge with my partner, two step-children and our Cockatiel. I also have a Son who is studying Computer Game Design Programming at a University in Cornwall.
I have worked at Bupa since 2015 and I have been Chef Manager at Northlands House since the start of 2024.
My career at Northlands House began as a Housekeeping Assistant, which progressed to Kitchen Assistant, then Care Assistant to Bank Chef. After 4 years as Bank Chef, I have been promoted to Chef Manager.
Before I joined Northlands House, I worked in the catering and restaurant field. As the lifestyle became too busy for my family life, I wanted to find an opportunity that supported a better work/family balance. When I found the Housekeeping opportunity at Northlands House, I knew it would be perfect and that’s how I started my journey to where I am now.
I enjoy looking after people and making them feel at home, ensuring to promote positive mental and physical wellbeing. I love caring for our residents. Both keep their home clean and tidy but also cook for them. To see their smiles is what I enjoy the most.
I have been married for 18 years, to my lovely husband. We both came to England from Latvia in 2006. We have created our sweet spot in Southampton, Woolston. I love riding my electric bike to work every day which takes me around a 15-minute blast. I love travelling, going to the beach and being in the sun. I love my cat, Neo, who is my fluffy baby.
I most definitely enjoy my job. It is a very rewarding job because every day you do something good for someone. My job feeds my soul for sure. I enjoy life as it is. Living in the moment, appreciating what I have. I enjoy simple things in life.
