About the role

As our dual Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant you will be required to work two jobs in one. As our Housekeeper you will ensure daily cleaning schedules are followed and with the rest of the housekeeping team, ensure every area of the home is spic and span and up to our standards.  This includes corridors, toilets and of course our residents’ rooms.  You’ll interact with our residents on a daily basis – so you’ll be friendly, caring and kind whilst respecting our resident’s dignity at all times. As our Laundry Assistant you will ensure that all residents laundry is carefully cleaned according to the washing instructions.  You will identify and pass on clothing that needs to be repaired to your line manager and will ensure residents property left in pockets is safely returned to them.

Here’s some other important things you need to know:

  • You’ll need to understand and comply with all statutory and legal requirements that are relevant such as Health and Safety, COSHH, and all aspects of the care Standards Act.
  • Ensure that all equipment and materials are well maintained and safely stored in the appropriate places
  • You’ll report any incidents or maintenance issues to the home manager.
  • Ensure that the laundry area is clean and tidy at all times by washing walls, work surfaces and floors on a daily basis
  • Ensure that all laundry chemicals are ordered – via the administrator, stored and used in the correct way
