Job summary
Thurlaston Meadows Care Home is a family-run home for the elderly set in the small village of Thurlaston Nr. Dunchurch, Rugby. A fantastic position has become available to join our Activities team as Activities Organiser working alongside the Activities Team Leader helping to organise and deliver fun and stimulating activities seven days a week to our elderly residents, as well as helping to arrange bi-monthly staff team building events. This is a full-time position that requires you to work flexible hours on an alternate weekend rota.
As Activities Organiser you will: –
· Plan and take part in daily activities with residents.
· Assist the Head of Activities to help manage & support volunteers.
· Arrange & take part in outings for the residents.
· Organise and take part in staff social evenings and events.
· Engage positively with relatives and residents.
· Produce Newsletters, Posters, Weekly & Monthly activities calendars as needed.
· Communicate with management using Email, Telephone, Digital Calendars, etc.
Skills required
· Must have good IT skills and be proficient on Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
· Understand to keep all company information confidential and private
· Good telephone manner
· Professional approach in all communications
· Good timekeeping and appearance
We are looking for someone who has excellent IT Skills, ability to use their initiative and the ability to work on their own. As Activities Organiser you will help produce the monthly newsletter and monthly events & entertainment schedule that gets distributed to residents, staff, relatives, and outside companies.
We are looking for someone with an outgoing personality who enjoys joining in the Activities with residents whether it be Bingo, Painting, Gardening, Dominoes and taking them on trips outside. You will also work alongside the Activities Team Leader to arrange fun staff outings which can include going to the Cinema, Bingo Hall, Pub/Restaurant, Bowling etc
