Job summary

Remyck House Care is a private family run residential care home located about 10minutes walk from Aldershot Town centre in Hampshire. It’s a home away from home for the 26 residents who use the service. We pride ourselves in promoting independence and providing person centred care

In order to promote and maintain a happy homely atmosphere, we are looking to employ an energetic and creative individual, who is motivated, organised and innovative to bring fun and engaging activities to our home and join the 29 staff at Remyck House

You will be responsible for planning, organising a stimulating programme of activities and encourage residents and relatives to join in and participate. Organise and arrange social outings for residents.  Promoting the home by organising with fund-raising events and functions. Building good relationships with the service users and their relatives. Acting in accordance with the policies and procedures of the home.

Some of the Activities Coordinator duties include:

  • To organise, run and record activity programme
  • Work with others to identify the individual activity preferences of residents and where possible support them to enable continuing participation.
  • Record the group and individual activities undertaken by residents.
  • Support involvement in home-based activities such as gardening, and helping lay tables etc.
  • To book outside entertainment to perform in the home
  • Engage with residents to participate in recreational and development activities including those outside of the home
  • To be responsible for the maintenance and safe storage of activities equipment and materials and to develop resources for activities within the given budget
  • Share in person centred assessment planning implementation and review
  • Enable interaction and communication recognising the special needs residents with dementia.

Salary and Benefits:

Skills / Qualifications:

  • Have experience working with older people and those living with dementia.
  • Have a caring and compassionate attitude.
  • Have an outgoing personality with a sensitive sense of humour.
  • Be able to encourage residents to take part in appropriate activities
  • Be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Have previous experience working as an Activity coordinator.
