Job summary

Eden Manor is a luxury purpose-built care home providing care for up to 80 residents, the home is designed for people requiring Residential, Dementia and End of Life care. Situated in a quiet residential area within the Morton area of Carlisle in Cumbria, the home provides residents with a peaceful environment, the home is surround by beautifully landscaped gardens and Chances Park. The home offers a supportive environment with 80 En-Suite bedrooms and comfortable lounge and dining areas. Our dedicated teams are hand selected through a rigorous recruitment process to ensure we meet the residents’ individual care and social needs and provide an exceptional level of care. Eden Manor only employs permanent team members and has had 0 agency usage since opening in 2022. The home proudly embodies the Lovett Care commitment to excellence, ensuring a warm, welcoming environment where residents feel valued and supported. Eden Manor has a dedicated activities and well-being team who cover a 7 day period to provide engagement and socialisation to all who live in the home and the local community.

We are seeking to appoint a kind, organised and motivated Kitchen Assistant to join our team. To assist with the preparation of meals for residents and external visitors. We have a 9.5 hour contract available with an hourly rate of £12.85! Shift times are 0900-1900.

This vacancy is for one shift per week, every Sunday.

Role Responsibilities:

Assist with food preparation and cooking for daily menus as directed by the Head Chef / Assistant Chef.
Ensure that all kitchen equipment and kitchen areas are cleaned according to cleaning schedules.
Ensure compliance at all times of Health and Safety, Food Hygiene, COSHH and HACCP requirements and legislation.
Follow instructions from Head Chef and Chef.
Undertake pot washing duties on a daily basis.


Skills and experience required:

Previous experience of working in food services is desirable.
Experience of working within a busy kitchen environment as part of a team is desirable. 
Ability to communicate effectively with other team members is essential.
A willingness to learn is essential.
No formal qualifications are required as we provide training & development in relation to this role.
