Job summary
Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to
join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing
high-quality care to individuals in various settings, including home
care and care homes. This position requires effective communication
skills and the ability to follow care plans to ensure the wellbeing of
our clients.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Medication administration where required.
- Implement and follow individual care plans tailored to each client's needs.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Maintain accurate records of client progress and any changes in their condition.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
- Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required.
- Participate in training sessions and staff meetings to enhance skills and knowledge in the field of care.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in home care or a care home setting is preferred but not essential.
- Previous experience administering medication
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to drive is desirable for transporting clients as needed.
- Basic IT skills for maintaining records and using care management software.
- A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
