Job summary

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dynamic Activities Coordinator to join our team in providing enriching and engaging experiences for our residents in an assisted living environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for enhancing the quality of life for seniors, particularly those in care homes and nursing facilities. This role is crucial in developing and implementing activities that promote social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and overall well-being among residents, including those with dementia care needs.

Responsibilities

  • Design, plan, and organise a diverse range of activities tailored to the interests and abilities of residents.
  • Facilitate group activities, workshops, and events that encourage participation and foster community spirit.
  • Collaborate with care staff to ensure activities are aligned with residents' individual care plans.
  • Assess the effectiveness of programmes and make necessary adjustments based on resident feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records of participation and document any incidents or observations relevant to resident well-being.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to promote upcoming events and encourage involvement.
  • Ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations within the care environment.

Skills

  • Experience in assisted living or senior care settings is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively engage with residents, families, and team members.
  • Knowledge of dementia care practices and the ability to adapt activities for individuals with varying levels of cognitive function.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills to develop innovative programmes that meet the needs of all residents.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while also being self-motivated.
  • Empathy and patience when working with seniors, understanding their unique challenges and needs.

This role is for 4 hours per day, as a whole shift or split in 2 shifts. 5 days per week if possible and alternitive weekends.
