The Head of Housekeeping role is a fundamental role in our homes in creating a caring and family environment so our residents can enjoy a happy and comfortable life.

What you will be doing:

  • Ensure an excellent environment is provided for our residents at all times.
  • Clean all areas of the home.
  • Ensure a hazard free environment.
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the premises.
  • Assist with stock taking and storage of stock, including checking deliveries.
  • Advise the housekeeper or responsible officer when consumables need to be restocked.
  • Assist in ensuring a high level of health and safety, cleanliness and hygiene is maintained.
  • Assist with the preparation of the lounge, dining room or other communal areas.
  • Disposal of refuse/waste.
  • Assist with the organisation of resident clothing for laundry.
  • Accident reports.

  • Confident and able to make responsible choices and decisions.
  • Able to direct staff in a positive manner and work well in a small team.
  • Highly organised and focused.
  • Flexible and adaptive.

  • Ability to read, understand, and follow directions and work schedules.
  • Numerical ability necessary to keep work records and for stock control.
