At Harrier Grange, our food is freshly prepared, thoughtfully presented, and central to the wellbeing and enjoyment of our residents. We are seeking a talented and organised Head Chef to oversee all aspects of our kitchen, delivering high-quality meals in a welcoming care home environment.
Harrier Grange is a purpose-built, luxury care home located in the heart of Andover. We provide residential, nursing, dementia, and respite care in a supportive setting where our residents are treated with kindness and dignity — and our team members are truly valued.
What We Offer
- £17.50 per hour / £36,400 per annum
- 40 hours per week, worked over 5 days
- Day shifts only – no late nights or split shifts
- Paid PVG, pension, free onsite parking, and uniform provided
- 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on full-time hours)

What You Will Do
As Head Chef, you will lead a small kitchen team and take full
responsibility for planning, preparing, and serving meals that meet
both nutritional standards and individual preferences. You will design
seasonal menus, cater to a variety of dietary requirements, manage
food safety, hygiene, and stock levels, and ensure mealtimes are a
positive experience for every resident. You will also play a key role
in maintaining high standards across the kitchen, supporting staff
development, and working closely with the care team to promote health
and wellbeing through food.
What We Are Looking For
You will have solid experience in a chef role, ideally within
care, healthcare, or hospitality settings. You will hold a food
hygiene certificate and demonstrate strong knowledge of dietary needs,
allergens, and kitchen compliance. With excellent leadership, time
management, and communication skills, you will be confident running a
kitchen independently while maintaining high standards of quality,
cleanliness, and presentation.
