We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team at St Catherines Care Home. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing essential support to our patients and assisting healthcare professionals in delivering excellent care.
Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Help patients with mobility and transfers, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Provide assistance with feeding and hydration as necessary.
- Assist healthcare professionals with medical procedures and treatments under supervision.
- Monitor and record patients' vital signs, symptoms, and overall condition.
- Maintain a clean and organized patient environment, including making beds and tidying rooms.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure coordinated care.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, promoting their well-being and dignity.
- Adhere to all healthcare protocols, safety guidelines, and infection control procedures.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant or similar role is preferred but not required.
- Compassionate and empathetic demeanor with a genuine desire to help others.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with healthcare professionals.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and patient needs.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare practices is beneficial.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or First Aid is advantageous.
