Skills and Abilities:
- IT skills to research activities and events and produce colourful posters and newsletters
- Able to motivate people to attend and join activities, keeping them engaged
- Communication skills - able to speak with a variety of different people and listen to their needs
- Problem-solving - able to fix situations quickly and adjust activities as required
- Planning and organising events
- Collaboration and team working
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Compassionate and patient
Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and implementing engaging activities for residents in a care setting and support with taking residents out into the community.
- Coordinate and facilitate group activities, such as games, crafts, and outings.
- Provide one-on-one support and companionship to residents who may have limited mobility or cognitive abilities.
- Assist with setting up and cleaning activity areas before and after each session.
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback.
- Collaborate with the Activities Coordinator and other staff members to develop new ideas for activities.
Experience:
- Experience working in a care or recreational setting is preferred but not essential
- Experience of event planning and techniques
- Ability to adapt activities to meet the needs and abilities of residents with varying levels of physical or cognitive function
- Basic knowledge of safety protocols and infection control measures in a care setting
