We are recruiting four bubbly, energetic Activities Assistants to join our lovely team at Dungate Manor Care Home to provide quality activities for our 37 residents.

Skills and Abilities:

  • IT skills to research activities and events and produce colourful posters and newsletters
  • Able to motivate people to attend and join activities, keeping them engaged
  • Communication skills - able to speak with a variety of different people and listen to their needs
  • Problem-solving - able to fix situations quickly and adjust activities as required
  • Planning and organising events
  • Collaboration and team working
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Compassionate and patient

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and implementing engaging activities for residents in a care setting and support with taking residents out into the community.
  • Coordinate and facilitate group activities, such as games, crafts, and outings.
  • Provide one-on-one support and companionship to residents who may have limited mobility or cognitive abilities.
  • Assist with setting up and cleaning activity areas before and after each session.
  • Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback.
  • Collaborate with the Activities Coordinator and other staff members to develop new ideas for activities.

Experience:

  • Experience working in a care or recreational setting is preferred but not essential
  • Experience of event planning and techniques
  • Ability to adapt activities to meet the needs and abilities of residents with varying levels of physical or cognitive function
  • Basic knowledge of safety protocols and infection control measures in a care setting
