The Role
We are seeking a skilled and proactive
Handyperson to join our friendly team. In this role,
you will take ownership of the home’s maintenance needs, ensuring that
the building, equipment, and grounds are kept safe, functional, and
welcoming for our residents, staff, and visitors.
You will work independently and be responsible for carrying out day-to-day repairs, preventative maintenance tasks, and regular environmental and maintenance audits.
Key Responsibilities:

Carry out general maintenance, repairs, and basic refurbishment tasks in a safe and timely manner.

Conduct regular environmental checks and maintenance audits to ensure the home meets regulatory standards.

Liaise with management to prioritise work and ensure minimal disruption to residents.

Monitor and maintain building systems, fixtures, fittings, and equipment.

Ensure all work complies with health and safety standards and relevant regulations.

Keep accurate records of work completed and report any larger maintenance concerns.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:

Proven maintenance experience in a similar role.

Ability to work independently, manage your workload, and take responsibility for the environment.

Strong practical skills across a range of basic maintenance disciplines (e.g., plumbing, joinery, painting, basic electrical work).

Good organisational and record-keeping skills.
Desirable Skills & Qualifications:

Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and best practices.

IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) qualification.

Previous experience in a care home or similar environment.
