Position Overview:
We are looking for a
passionate and compassionate Health Care Assistant to join our
dedicated team at Austenwood Care Home. As a Health Care Assistant,
you will be integral in supporting our residents with their daily
living activities, providing personal care, and ensuring their comfort
and well-being. You will work closely with a supportive team to create
a positive and nurturing environment for the residents, assisting them
in maintaining their independence, dignity, and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care and assistance to residents with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support residents with mobility, including the use of equipment where necessary.
- Assist with feeding and hydration, ensuring residents’ nutritional needs are met.
- Monitor and record residents’ health, well-being, and behaviour, reporting any changes to senior staff.
- Ensure the comfort, safety, and dignity of residents at all times.
- Establish strong relationships with residents, providing emotional and social support.
- Assist in the implementation of individual care plans and ensure they are followed.
- Promote a person-centred approach to care, respecting the preferences and choices of each resident.
- Help with light housekeeping duties, such as making beds, tidying rooms, and ensuring the care environment is clean and comfortable.
- Be responsive to emergency situations and follow the home’s protocols in those instances.
Skills / Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a care or healthcare role is desirable
- but not essential.
