Job summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Deputy Manager to join our team in providing exceptional care within a senior care environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in care management, particularly in care home or nursing homes and will demonstrate effective leadership skills. This role is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of high-quality care plans and support for residents, especially those with dementia or other age-related conditions. Observation skills and knowledge of drug administration, including controlled medication.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Manager in overseeing daily operations of the care facility, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
- Supervise and support staff members, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Develop, implement, and review individual care plans tailored to the needs of residents.
- Ensure that all staff are trained in delivering high-quality care and are aware of their responsibilities.
- Maintain effective communication with residents, families, and external agencies to promote continuity of care.
- Monitor the wellbeing of residents, addressing any concerns promptly and effectively.
- Participate in recruitment, training, and performance management of staff members.
- Promote a culture of respect, dignity, and independence for all residents.

Requirements
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within senior care or a related field is essential.
- Strong understanding of care plans and the specific needs associated with dementia care.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements governing senior care facilities.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- A compassionate approach to caring for elderly individuals while promoting their dignity and independence.
- Relevant qualifications in health or social care would be advantageous.
- Working on electronic care plans, especially Nourish added advantage but not essential, as training can be provided.
