Job summary
A Care Assistant provides support to individuals who need help with daily living activities, often in a care home or residential setting. Key responsibilities include assisting with personal care, medication administration, meal preparation, mobility support, and emotional support. They also play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for residents and reporting any changes in their condition.
Responsibilities:

Mobility Support:
Helping residents move around, using hoists or other aids as needed, and ensuring their safety during transfers.

Medication Administration:
Following care plans to administer medications as prescribed, monitoring for any side effects, and reporting any concerns to senior staff.

Meal Preparation and Feeding:
Preparing meals and assisting residents with eating, ensuring they receive adequate nutrition and hydration.

Emotional Support:
Providing companionship, listening to residents, and offering encouragement and support to promote their well-being.

Record Keeping:
Maintaining accurate records of care provided, medication administered, and any observations related to residents' health and well-being.

Maintaining a Safe Environment:
Ensuring the environment is clean, tidy, and free from hazards, adhering to health and safety guidelines.

Communication:
Effectively communicating with residents, their families, and other members of the care team.

Other Duties:
May include assisting with light household tasks, laundry, and engaging residents in activities.

Personal Care:
Assisting with washing, dressing, and toileting, ensuring residents maintain their hygiene and feel comfortable.
