Job summary
Head of Dementia Care Location: Goodson Lodge, Trowbridge, Salary:
£34,000 per annum ABOUT THE ROLE Are you a care leader with experience
working in a dementia care setting, with the passion to make a
difference? Can you lead a team of people to deliver outstanding care to
our residents living with dementia, by delivering the highest quality
care? Our care teams make a real difference every day and your
professionalism, teamed with kindness and compassion, will be at the
core of everything you do. Working collaboratively with the home
management team, you will lead on and develop the provision of
person-centred care for our residents living with dementia to meet their
needs in sometimes complex situations and during times of distress. You
will take responsibility for the operational management of the dementia
households ensuring colleagues are competent and confident working
across all shifts through promoting best practice, providing guidance
and support. You will work closely with our residents to support them in
making decisions about their care and will work alongside our own
Admiral Nurses, outside agencies and our resident’s family, carers and
friends to plan and implement care that promotes independence and
wellbeing to ensure that our residents living with dementia continue to
live fulfilled and meaningful lives. Goodson Lodge is situated in the
historic county town of Trowbridge. This purpose-built care home has
been created with our residents in mind. The home provides 24-hour
specialist person-centred dementia care, residential care and respite
care. AND IN RETURN As a Head of Dementia Care you will work to the
Trusts Head of Dementia Care Competency Framework and will receive
ongoing professional development and monthly supervision from the
Admiral Nurse who will also work alongside you during their regular
support visits to the Home. The Trust is a great place to work; we’ve
been providing care for almost 1,000 years and we’re currently the
second largest not-for-profit provider in the UK. Not-for-profit means
that we reinvest every penny we make into our residents, colleagues and
the care homes we live and work in. Therefore, we offer a great range of
benefits, including a competitive salary, training and development.
Here are some of the other benefits you’ll enjoy as a valued member of
our team: * 30 days holiday (including Bank Holidays) * A Company
pension * Life assurance * Free uniform * Free DBS * Access to our
Employee Assistance Programme * Blue Light Card and “My Rewards”
programme, offering you discounts on shopping, days out, restaurants and
much more ABOUT YOU You’ll have a QCF Level 3 in Dementia Care, or
equivalent together with, or willingness to work towards, a Level 3
Certificate in Team Leadership and a proven track record of leading and
managing a team in a dementia care setting. You’ll be a positive role
model, able to work autonomously and, at times, under pressure, with
excellent communication and organisational skills and a natural ability
to get along with others. A supportive leader, you’ll motivate your team
to deliver the best possible care to our residents at all times. If you
think you have the right skills and attitude to deliver the highest
quality of care for our residents as a Head of Dementia Care within our
care homes, then you could be the next to join us. So, apply and get
