Day Care Assistant (Full-Time) – Hawthorn Court Care Home
Location: Swansea
Pay: £12.60 per hour
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours: 42 hours per week
Shifts: 3x 07:30–19:30 shifts and one split either
07:30–13:30 or 13:30–19:30
Rota: Rolling rota including weekends and public holidays

Are you an experienced and dependable carer with a passion for supporting older adults? We’re looking for a full-time Day Care Assistant to join our committed team at Hawthorn Court Care Home, where every shift makes a meaningful impact.
About Hawthorn Court
Hawthorn Court is a well-established 22-bed residential care home just outside Swansea, offering person-centred support for older adults, including those with dementia and complex needs. Our care team is known for its warmth, strong work ethic, and collaborative spirit.
Your Role
As a Day Care Assistant, you’ll provide hands-on, compassionate care to residents throughout the day. You’ll be a vital part of ensuring comfort, dignity, and wellbeing.
Key Duties:
- Deliver personal care including washing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
- Support residents with mealtimes and daily routines
- Assist with medication administration
- Monitor and record wellbeing, promptly reporting any concerns
- Help maintain a safe, tidy, and supportive environment
- Offer emotional support and companionship throughout the day
What We’re Looking For
? Minimum 1 year of experience in a UK care home (essential)
?
NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work
towards it)
? Medication trained - essential
? Confident
supporting individuals with dementia or high dependency needs
?
Calm, reliable, and proactive with excellent communication
skills
? Able to work flexible shifts including weekends and
bank holidays
