We are looking for a creative, strategic, and hands-on Internal Communications Manager (Storytelling & Channel Management) to join our team and support the Head of Internal Communications. This role will bring our strategy to life through compelling storytelling, innovative digital communications, and engaging virtual and in-person events.

You will lead the creation of impactful content, especially video, and manage key communication channels to ensure our messages are clear, consistent, and inspiring for colleagues in multiple locations and roles.

Roles & Responsibilities

 Storytelling & Campaigns

  • Work with leaders to develop and align core messages that clearly communicate our purpose and commitments.
  • Lead the planning, development, and delivery of creative internal communication campaigns, using video and other formats to inspire and engage.
  • Serve as our in-house videography expert — from scripting and filming to editing and publishing content across internal platforms.
  • Translate complex business updates into clear, engaging narratives that resonate with all colleagues.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels to uncover and share compelling stories that showcase the impact of our strategy.
  • Support and grow a network of internal communication champions to boost engagement.
  • Maintain and manage distribution lists for key internal audiences, including leadership groups.

Channel & Event Management

  • Oversee and develop digital communication channels such as OneNet, Viva Engage, and internal newsletters.
  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate virtual and hybrid internal events, managing platforms and providing user training.
  • Manage relationships with AV suppliers and freelance video editors for large-scale projects, ensuring quality, brand alignment, and value for money.

Team Contribution & Collaboration

  • Maintain the internal communications planner to coordinate content, events, and campaigns.
  • Uphold a consistent tone of voice and brand identity across all content.
  • Measure communication impact, share insights, and continuously improve our approach.
  • Work cross-functionally with colleagues in marketing, HR, IT, and external affairs to maximise engagement opportunities.
  • Deputise for the Head of Internal Communications when required, including on-call duties.

This is a remote home working role with regular travel to our offices in Darlington and London, and our Care Homes across England, Scotland and Wales. Candidates must be willing to travel as needed, with occasional overnight stays.
