REGISTERED NURSE

Moorland Gardens Care Home is a 80-bed facility set in its own grounds just outside of the heart of Luton, Moorland Gardens Care Home is designed to meet a wide range of needs.

Catering for 24/7 residential care, elderly care, end of life care, respite care and nursing care, service users with a range of mental health and physical disabilities are afforded the best possible care.

Deborah Adams and her team of registered nurses, care assistants and general staff work hard to deliver the highest level of care for service users. Languages spoken by staff include English, Polish, Romanian, Hindu and Urdu to aid communication and make service users feel more comfortable at all times.

Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications

Required: 1st/2nd level nurse, Team player , Satisfactory Policy Check and check against the PoVA list , Ability to communicate effectively at all levels

Desired: Previous supervisory experienced and Experience/qualification in care for relevant Service User category

Main responsibilities

Care : Ensure that all Staff Members contribute to the best of their ability to the efficient running of the Care Centre and the creation of an atmosphere conducive to the best interests of the Service Users. Duties may include acting up for the Deputy Home Manager and/or Home Manager in their absence.

Communication : Participate in Staff and Service User meetings as required. Establish and maintain good communication with Service Users, Relatives and with the multidisciplinary team. Provide administrative support when required

Budgetary/Financial Control: Ensure that all commodities used in and around the Care Centre are sensibly conserved by all Staff Members e.g. monitor usage of incontinence aids, wipes, dressings, electricity, gloves, etc

Marketing: Actively market the Care Centre and promote a positive personal/professional profile within the local community, ensuring the good reputation of the Care Centre and Bondcare at all times

Training and Development: Supervise and instruct junior and new Staff Members in all aspects of their work in the Care Centre giving help and guidance where appropriate

Professional: Ensure that the revalidation standards are met, 35 CPD hours in three years is evidenced , 450 hours of practice in three years is evidenced

Health & Safety : Report immediately to the Home Manager or Person in Charge any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by a Service Users, colleague, self or another

General: Adhere to all appropriate NMC guidelines/regulations, Carry out any other tasks that may be reasonably assigned to you
