Splendid Healthcare are delighted to be looking for Care Assistants
to join our team at our Derwent Care Home.
Our purpose built
spacious and dynamic home is just a short walk from the picturesque
high street of Billingshurst, West Sussex. We offer a variety of
beautiful environments and a professional care team ready to cater for
any needs. We provide the following care for our residents;
convalescent, dementia, nursing, palliative, residential and respite.
Who are you?
Our dedicated nursing and care team work closely with residents
and their families to develop person centered care.
We are
seeking Care Assistants who share our passion for providing the best
possible care for our residents whilst advocating for their dignity at
all times. Someone who can demonstrate professionalism with energy in
every aspect of the role and a commitment to ensuring our residents
are able to continue to live their best life.
Whilst wanting to
work alongside our fantastic team; possessing good communication
skills, being reliable and able to adapt to the needs of each resident
in your care are just some of the key qualities we look for in our
Splendid family. We need you to be like minded in this approach,
valuing the small things which are important to each of our residents
and their families.
We’d love you to be NVQ/QCF 2 qualified in
Health & Social Care or have had some care experience but this is
not essential as we provide lots of training. The key to us is that
you live our values of honesty, brilliance, openness and being nimble.
What will I be doing?
• Providing personal care to residents which is person
centred and respects individual choices
• Providing additional
care and support as required when a resident is unwell or towards end
of life
• Documenting care given, recording any changes and
reporting these to the person in charge of the shift
•
Providing support and advice to residents’ families and friends,
keeping them informed at an appropriate level with due regard to the
adherence of confidentiality
• Providing social activities for
residents
• Liaising with other agencies as required in the
interests of the resident for example; GP, Social Services,
Occupational Therapist, etc
• Administering oral and topical
medication under the supervision of medical personnel
