Job summary

What we're all about:

We're at 25 bed operation, and we care about creating a proper family feel here - the kind of warmth and personal attention that often gets lost in larger carehomes. Our residents have lived full lives, and they deserve so much better than just being processed through daily routines.

Every single decision we make starts with asking "Is this what's best for our residents?" Whether it's Marge who loves her morning cup of tea just so, or John who needs that extra bit of patience with his mobility - it's about seeing the person, not just the care plan.

The kind of person we need:

You'll be someone who genuinely lights up when working with older people. Someone who can have a proper chat and a laugh with residents, but also knows when to be professional and clinical. We want team players - people who'll work with us, not just for us, to figure out the best ways to care for everyone.

You need to be:

  • Enthusiastic (even on Monday mornings!)
  • Positive and proactive
  • Great at talking to people - residents, families, the whole team
  • Ready to really collaborate with management on making things better

What you'll need:

  • Level 3 NVQ
  • Medication training
  • Flexibility for 13-hour shifts, 3 times a week with alternate weekends
  • Willingness to cover nights when needed

What you'll be doing:

  • Safely giving out medications
  • Helping residents with personal care while keeping their dignity intact
  • Working with individual care plans
  • Chatting with families and healthcare professionals
  • Joining in training sessions
  • Keeping everyone safe and healthy
  • Supporting the rest of our care team
  • Working with management to keep improving how we do things

Look, we won't pretend it's always easy work, but if you're the right person, it's incredibly rewarding. These residents become like family, and there's nothing quite like seeing someone smile because you've made their day a bit brighter.

Skills / Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 3
  • Medication Training
