Holbrook HallĀ is a very special place which is located in the pretty village of Holbrook, near Belper, in Derbyshire. From it's elevated position, surrounded by 4 acres of land, it boasts beautiful gardens and stunning views of The Amber Valley below. Holbrook Hall is a Grade 2 listed property of the William and Mary period and has been serving as a residential care home for the elderly for over 40 years.

About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Manager to join our dynamic team. This permanent position would be well suited to an enthusiastic individual looking for a long-term position in the care sector in a thriving and supportive environment. At our beautiful countryside location, you will work closely with the Senior Management Team in all aspects of service leadership.

Roles & responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with the management and senior management of the service
  • Liaise with the Registered Provider ensuring all necessary reports are sent timeously
  • Uphold an open, positive and inclusive management culture
  • To provide leadership to the administration, care, catering, housekeeping, laundry, maintenance and people management functions of the service
  • To maintain the operations of the service at the standard agreed with the Registered Provider, within the financial budget or other parameters set by the Provider
  • Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of residents of the service
  • Recruitment of staff
  • Induct new starters in accordance with Company policy
  • Lead, motivate and direct staff
  • Conduct staff supervision and annual staff appraisals
  • Develop staff to full potential
  • Ensure multidisciplinary team working is embedded in the service
  • Seek opportunities for personal and professional growth

Role specific requirements & personal qualities

  • Enhanced DBS check
  • Previous experience working in a supervisory role in a similar environment
  • Level 5 Qualification in Adult Care / Leadership and Management or equivalent
  • Proficient written skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Willingness to speak up when things go wrong
  • A comprehensive understanding of person-centred care
  • Ability & desire to strive for quality in everything we do, recognising and understanding what quality in care means for people using the service
  • Being accepting about criticism and focusing on improvement
  • Being open to new opportunities for learning and identifying the limits of skills and knowledge

Skills / Qualifications:

  • Level 5 Qualification in Adult Care / Leadership & Management or equivalent
  • 2+ years' experience in care home management
