Job summary

Looking for a role where you can combine your caring nature with creativity? We’re a 36-bed, family-run dementia care home* in North Tyneside, and we’re looking for a warm, enthusiastic Carer & Activities Lead* to join our team.

This is a daytime, part-time role ideal for someone who wants to make a difference — not just by providing support with daily routines, but by bringing joy and purpose to residents through meaningful afternoon activities.

Your Role Will Include:

  • Supporting residents at lunch and assisting with other daily care tasks
  • Planning and leading engaging activities (e.g. crafts, games, music, reminiscence sessions)
  • Encouraging social connection and emotional wellbeing
  • Working alongside the care team to ensure residents feel valued and supported
  • Helping to create a homely, uplifting environment where residents can thrive
  • 20-36 hours negotiable 

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working in care or delivering activities
  • A caring, patient approach and confidence engaging with people living with dementia
  • Creative, outgoing, and able to take the lead in group or 1:1 sessions
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Willing to complete an enhanced DBS check

Skills / Qualifications:

  • Experience in dementia care (minimum of 1-2 years in a care home setting
  • Enhanced DBS Check (required)
  • Excellent communication skills
