The Old Vicarage Care Home

My sister is very happy and likes the staff. And the food is good.

My wife has come to realise her stay at The Old Vicarage is to be permanent and she has come to terms with it, because of the friendly staff who make her feel at home, good food & clean room.

My sister came here in April after a long stay in hospital didn't want her going back to other care home she loves it what a difference in her the staff are absolutley amazing could not fault any off them they interact with the people in here all the time nothing is a problem for them and with family visiting. The food is also lovely and the rooms are very spacious.

Outstanding care very professional staff food is excellent here so kind and patient to all / lots of activities if you want to get involved/ carers have time to talk to patients and always listen to there needs absolutely great support from the staff colleagues are amazing people who genuinely care & love the patients they care for we can't thank you enough from David & family.

The Old Vicarage has been a warm, welcoming and caring home for my mam, and she has really enjoyed living there over the past two years. As a family, we visit regularly and have seen some lovely improvements made to the home over the last few months, which have made an already pleasant environment even better. All of the staff are friendly, approachable and welcoming, and they are always happy to help whenever needed. We have been very pleased with the care and support my mam receives, and it is reassuring to know that she is happy and well looked after at The Old Vicarage.

I can't speak highly enough of the care here. My mum originally came for respite, but it soon became clear that it was best for her to stay as her dementia caused increasing confusion. The staff have been consistently kind and patient, taking the time to really get to know her. It's a warm, welcoming place, and I've come to know many of the regular staff when visiting. Since moving in, my Mum has become much more engaged, and the team always keeps us updated about her health whenever we have concerns. It's been a huge relief knowing she is in such good hands.

The Old Vicarage has a real warmth to it-caring staff, homely feel, and spotlessly clean. Everyone's treated with kindness and respect, and it's clear the team genuinely care. Couldn't recommend it more. Thank you for looking after my grandma!

Thank you so much for looking after my Granny so well! It's a proper welcoming home and everyone is so friendly. It was also so nice that the staff sorted a birthday cake for her, which she loved! It's the little extra touches that make all the difference to my granny but also our family knowing she is really cared for. Thank you.

Granny much preferred living here than her previous care facility. Staff were lovely, attentive and treated her with compassion when she was being fussy. Facilities were clean and well maintained which put my mind at ease.

Well-presented care home with very friendly and efficient staff. No worries at all leaving my brother in their care.

For any elderly person unable to cope on their own in their home this is the place for you. My father spent the last year of his life there. The was happy, well cared for by remarkable staff who treated him with dignity, patience and love. They also provided information to me, his daughter, regarding his every need. In addition, they were a great support to me during worrying times. Always updating me if there was a problem. They arranged a doctor to see him when necessary, podriatrist, hairdresser and his special diet and so much patience with him when he was feeling down. I am obviously missing my Dad, who was with me for 75 years of my life, but so grateful to the staff of this Care Home who not only cared for my Dad but were also there for me. Thank you all staff at The Old Vicarage.

Outside needs to look more welcoming, like flower boxes instead of rubbish - old mattress and old bath doesn't look good.

This home is very friendly and the staff are excellent. The atmosphere is light and happy overall.

The home itself is always kept clean and tidy and the activities coordinator is very good at encouraging participation.

I cannot praise the staff highly enough for the care they have given my mum over the last 18 months. At times she was a tad difficult but they never wavered in their care! They provided a very caring, safe environment until the end and cared enough to be there with me when the end peacefully came.

Very happy with the care home. Mum settled in very well. Have no problems at all. Staff are all excellent.

Overall, I recommend to visit and see all the people who seem very much at home.

I am pleased that my husband is in the above home and hopefully, he is now settling down and is less frustrated with his life.

My mother recently passed away peacefully at this home, after living there for a couple of years. She had Alzheimer's disease. The staff made her last years happy and comfortable, in this very clean, happy home. There were activities and outings, which I know she really enjoyed, and she visibly thrived, notwithstanding the awful disease she was suffering from.

We'd had a bad previous experience elsewhere, which left me, as well as my mother, very wary and anxious. The staff were very patient and considerate with me too, allowing me to regain my trust and knowing my mother was happy and in good hands. Thank you all.
