I can't speak highly enough of the care here. My mum originally came for respite, but it soon became clear that it was best for her to stay as her dementia caused increasing confusion. The staff have been consistently kind and patient, taking the time to really get to know her. It's a warm, welcoming place, and I've come to know many of the regular staff when visiting. Since moving in, my Mum has become much more engaged, and the team always keeps us updated about her health whenever we have concerns. It's been a huge relief knowing she is in such good hands.

The Old Vicarage has a real warmth to it-caring staff, homely feel, and spotlessly clean. Everyone's treated with kindness and respect, and it's clear the team genuinely care. Couldn't recommend it more. Thank you for looking after my grandma!

Thank you so much for looking after my Granny so well! It's a proper welcoming home and everyone is so friendly. It was also so nice that the staff sorted a birthday cake for her, which she loved! It's the little extra touches that make all the difference to my granny but also our family knowing she is really cared for. Thank you.

I can't speak highly enough of the outstanding care and compassion provided by the staff at this care home. From the moment we first visited, we were warmly welcomed and immediately felt reassured that our loved one would be in safe hands.
The team goes above and beyond to create a comfortable, respectful, and nurturing environment. Staff members are attentive, professional, and genuinely care about each resident's wellbeing. Communication with the family has been excellent-we're always kept informed and involved.
The facilities are spotless, homely, and thoughtfully designed to support residents' needs. Activities are engaging and tailored to individual interests, which has had such a positive impact on our loved one's mood and overall happiness.

Knowing that our family member is so well looked after brings us immense peace of mind. We are truly grateful to everyone here for their dedication and kindness. Highly recommend

Granny much preferred living here than her previous care facility. Staff were lovely, attentive and treated her with compassion when she was being fussy. Facilities were clean and well maintained which put my mind at ease.

It has been one of the hardest decisions, putting a family member in care for their own safety. From the moment I rang and spoke to someone at The Old Vicarage, I knew it was going to be the place for my mam. Everyone I have met has been warm, friendly and always ready to answer my questions. Highly recommend and thank you for all your hard work.

For any elderly person unable to cope on their own in their home this is the place for you. My father spent the last year of his life there. The was happy, well cared for by remarkable staff who treated him with dignity, patience and love. They also provided information to me, his daughter, regarding his every need. In addition, they were a great support to me during worrying times. Always updating me if there was a problem. They arranged a doctor to see him when necessary, podriatrist, hairdresser and his special diet and so much patience with him when he was feeling down. I am obviously missing my Dad, who was with me for 75 years of my life, but so grateful to the staff of this Care Home who not only cared for my Dad but were also there for me. Thank you all staff at The Old Vicarage.

Air conditioning would be good.
Clean with friendly staff. I feel the home needs more activities to stimulate some residents. Singing is good for them, each time I have visited they just sat in chairs sleeping.
Need more drinks in hot weather.

Outside needs to look more welcoming, like flower boxes instead of rubbish - old mattress and old bath doesn't look good.

I cannot praise the staff highly enough for the care they have given my mum over the last 18 months. At times she was a tad difficult but they never wavered in their care! They provided a very caring, safe environment until the end and cared enough to be there with me when the end peacefully came.

My mother recently passed away peacefully at this home, after living there for a couple of years. She had Alzheimer's disease. The staff made her last years happy and comfortable, in this very clean, happy home. There were activities and outings, which I know she really enjoyed, and she visibly thrived, notwithstanding the awful disease she was suffering from.

We'd had a bad previous experience elsewhere, which left me, as well as my mother, very wary and anxious. The staff were very patient and considerate with me too, allowing me to regain my trust and knowing my mother was happy and in good hands. Thank you all.

First impressions are of a modern (recently renovated to a high standard) light, airy and warmly decorated building. This is the only residential care home for elderly residents I have been in, spotless, where there is no smell of urine or of elderly residents. Mum (and I) made to feel very welcome. Genuinely interested in mum's health and well being. Staff caring and supportive while bringing humour and warmth in their professional interactions with mum. Mum said she enjoyed her stay and would like to go back again. The Old Vicarage is maintained and run to a very high standard - outstanding. Thanks.

My Name is Pat Porter, and I have worked in the care sector in Nursing and Residential Care homes. for over 30 years. I started off working as a care assistant in 1987 and went on to qualify as an administrator. I worked in a Nursing Home for over 26 years, had a spell of retirement, but missed working in care so much that I went back to work.
