Join our close-knit care team as a Deputy Manager and help us deliver compassionate, high-quality care in a calm and supportive environment.
We are 36-bed dementia-focused care home with a loyal team and a warm, hands-on management style. As Deputy, you’ll support the Home Manager with day-to-day leadership, staff development, and ensuring excellent standards of care throughout the home..
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Support, monitor and supervise care staff on shift by obervation and direct involvement. This role is based mainly ' on the floor' with some protected hours allocated to supporting the manager with compliance tasks
- Oversee pre- assesments, care planning, reviews, and medication management
- Lead by example in delivering person-centred care ; being aware of any change impacting on care and care plans, ensuring that new needs are met and written records are amended to reflect any variation.
- Assist with audits and liaise with healthcare professionals acting in line with CQC guidlines
- To support the Manager in the implementation of all policies, procedures and business objectives.
- Support with staff training and development , conduct supervisions, and induction of new staff.
- Take part in the on-call rota, providing out-of-hours support when needed.
- Liase with the Home Manager across the range of operational activity to be able to assume responsibility for managing the Home during the manager’s scheduled and unscheduled absences.

What You’ll Need:
- NVQ Level 4 in Health & Social Care
- Team leadership experience in a care home setting desirable
- Minumum 5 years experince in care home
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing (basic computer skills required).
- Strong communication and confidence in managing staff
- Calm, professional and positive approach to care
- Knowledge of the CQC requirements is desirable
