Job summary
We’re a small, friendly, 36-bed family-run dementia care home in North Tyneside, looking for a reliable and hardworking Cleaner/ Domestic to join our team. You'll play an important role in creating a clean, safe, and homely environment for our residents — many of whom live with dementia.
Your Role:
- Clean bedrooms, bathrooms, lounges, dining areas and communal spaces
- Follow a cleaning schedule to maintain hygiene and infection control standards
- Use cleaning products and equipment safely (training provided)
- Replenish supplies provided (e.g. soap, toilet rolls, paper towels)
- Report any maintenance or safety issues
- Work respectfully around residents and protect their privacy and dignity
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous cleaning experience (ideally in care, healthcare, or hospitality – but not essential)
- Good attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness
- Reliable and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Friendly, respectful approach toward residents and staff
- Understanding of COSHH and infection control (training provided)
- Willing to complete an enhanced DBS check (or already holds one)
- Afternoon/ Evening availability (preferred but not essential)
