Job summary

Highbury Rise is a small residential care home, registered for up to 23 residents, the home has 21 single rooms and 1 double.  Highbury rise is part of the Benslow group of 3 care homes, established in 1982.

The home is set in the centre of Hitchin with great road and rail links. Situated on a quiet residential street, in a large home from home style Edwardian house, which means our residents, most of whom are living with dementia, are able to lead a peaceful life. We believe that good quality care is delivered through a combination of well organised systems, a willingness to share ideas & learn from others and a strong ethical framework. We deliver professional, person-centred, care which means forging close ties with families and professionals, as well as maintaining close personal knowledge of residents needs and preferences.

As part of the management team:

  • You will support the home manager to undertake quality assurance audits and maintain the highest quality of care delivery.
  • You will administer medication and coach and mentor the senior team in the application of safe practice.
  • You will undertake supervisions, appraisals and development of the team.
  • You will work in partnership with all stakeholders and maintain strong relationships with same.
  • You will complete statutory notifications and promote an open transparent culture.
  • Work a day shift pattern of 3 x long day one week, 4 x long day the next including one weekend in two, whilst coaching and mentoring the teams you work with.

Skills / Qualifications:

  • Minimum level 3 in health and social care and willing to train to level 4. Minimum two years experience working within a residential care home for older people and/or as a field care supervisor for community care.
