To give any medication as prescribed, with proper
monitoring of the drug, dose, time, route and person to whom it is
given. To ensure the medication is properly taken, and to monitor
for any normal, positive or negative effects.
To have knowledge of and the use of all equipment
within the home. To check its usability weekly.
To be knowledgeable regarding emergency procedures
pertaining to our client group.
To respond to the spiritual,
emotional, physical and mental needs of the service users.
To liaise with service users, staff, GPs, and other
multi-disciplinary team members to promote good care.
To monitor service users hygiene and self care.
To influence and monitor care, utilising the
nursing process.
To write reports on daily events.
To involve those agencies who have an input into
service users’ care planning, ie assessment meetings with the
multi-disciplinary team, GP clinics, CPN visits, out patient appointments.
To make sure all relevant information is handed
over at the change of shifts.
To participate in staff meetings, fire lectures and
fire drills.
To be aware of the policies and procedures of the home.
To comply with the Care Standards Act 2000
To maintain proper and accurate records regarding
the service users and other home information.
To be aware of all the service users whereabouts at
all times.
To bring to the attention of the management any
repairs and renewals of fitments and fittings.
To resolve problems arising in the home if
possible, and where problems persist to bring it to the attention of
the manager or proprietor.
To take service users on outings as per their care programme.
