Dining Supervisor

This is a full time position, 40 hours per week to include alternate weekends.
Salary £13.65. Please only apply if you live within a commutable distance to the care Home and don't require sponsorship as we are unable to offer it at this time.

Main Duties of our Dining Supervisor;
- Supporting residents with choosing their meal options
- Supporting the dining service and assisting residents with their meals as directed.
- Ensure dining tables are set in accordance with the standard operating procedures
- Ensure menus are displayed and are reflective of the meal choices for the day
- Ensure menu holders are kept clean and well presented
- Ensure any tray services required to be taken to resident’s rooms are well presented and cleared away afterwards
- Ensure satellite kitchens (including Cafe?) are fully stocked, with condiments, juices, teas, coffee etc. and all items are in date
- Ensure the front of house is kept clean, tidy and well-presented and that dirty crockery is removed, washed and replenished throughout the day
- Ensure the coffee machine is cleaned regularly and replenished as necessary
- Ensure fresh fruit and homemade cakes/biscuits are accessible in the Cafe? area and replenished throughout the day
- Ensure that any concerns about a resident’s dietary intake are escalated to the senior person in charge
- Serving of tea and coffee/ juices/water to resident’s as required.
- Ensure awareness of resident’s dietary requirements, such as fortified diets, allergens, IDSSI, etc, working closely with our Nutrition and Hydration team.
- Assist in clearing tables after meals and re-setting
- Assist in cleaning satellite kitchens (including Cafe?) and main kitchen as required.
- Check sell-by dates on consumables held within all satellite kitchen areas and Cafe.
- Ensure that the Head Chef/ Head Housekeeper is notified in a timely manner of any linen or equipment that may need replacing .
- Treating all residents at all times with dignity and respect.
Skills and Experience of our Dining Supervisors;
- Previous experience in food service would be advantageous
- Ability to communicate with residents, families, visitors and other team members
- A friendly and cheerful disposition
- High level of written and spoken English – Essential
- Demonstrate high standards of personal hygiene
- Understand the principles of and ideally hold, a basic Food Hygiene Certificate
