My father has been in Rowan Lodge care home since July 25, he has been looked after by the care staff wonderfully, entertainment staff keep him engaged and the kitchen staff & chefs deliver excellent food.
He is also in need of nursing care which is also offered, the nursing staff are commendable and treat him with respect and understanding.

I would recommend Rowan Lodge wholeheartedly.

I am very grateful for the excellent and comprehensive care which my wife received while she was resident in Rowan Lodge for seven months in 2025. That care has significantly improved her general health, mobility and alertness, and has enabled her to return to her own beloved home a few days ago. I should also like to praise the staff in all levels at Rowan Lodge for their unfailing helpfulness, courtesy and friendliness to the residents and their visitors. During my visits I was always favourably impressed by the effective management of Rowan Lodge, its cleanliness and its attractive environment. I would certainly recommend Rowan Lodge as very suitable for anyone needing respite of long-term care.

I am very pleased with dad's care so far. I have made very regular visits and always the care home is clean, well staffed and welcoming. At a difficult time for the family we feel fully confident in the level of nursing, care and support dad has received. A very well run care home with an excellent reputation.

We thoroughly recommend Rowan Lodge for its comprehensive and empathetic care across the range of needs including dementia care. The care home is comfortable, well run, offers excellent facilities and menu, has a pleasant small garden and patios overlooking green countryside.Care has been sensitively adjusted over mum's time of occupation to fit her mental and physical health as she passes 2 years living at Rowans and approaches her 100th birthday. The 24/7 nursing care is diligent and thorough, mum's very survival having been secured by prompt action. The carers are genuinely caring and patient ,within reason nothing too much trouble, and staff strive to secure a good relationship. The family and mum's friends are always made welcome, whether on physical visits or online.Good communal events and many engaging activities are arranged for residents to choose from if interested and according to personal preference.

I was impressed with how mum's admission was dealt with. Everything went smoothly and she was welcomed like an old friend. Mum is treated with respect and careful attention. Her room is lovely with a view over the patio, she has an en suite bathroom and everything is kept spotlessly clean.
The activities are endless, there always seems to be something going on so residents can never be bored. The food and choice of menu is varied and would grace a hotel.

I would recommend Rowan Lodge to anyone who needs to place a relative in a secure, happy and caring environment.

We moved mum to Rowan Lodge in March of this year 2024.
Our first impression of the home when we went to visit was how friendly the staff were, cleanliness and how well-maintained it was inside and out and had no concerns about Mum going in there.
My mum has been in there for 5 months and the level of care she has experienced has been exceptional. It is extremely well-staffed and nothing is too much trouble. On my many visits to see mum, I have only witnessed a high level of care and attention to all of the residents.

Thank you Rowan Lodge for looking/caring for Mum.

From the first time I walked through the front door, I just knew this was the place where a loved one would be made to feel at home and genuinely cared for with compassion and dignity.
Everyone here deserves a shout-out for amazing service, from the enrichment team to the cook and kitchen staff through to the nursing/caring staff and management.
Everyone you meet speaks and is friendly, making any stay here, be it long or for respite, a family feeling at home.

Keep up the good work.

My mother went into Rowan Lodge Care Home in December 2021 and straight away felt at home and still does three years later. After a fall this year she is now in a wheelchair and is very deaf and finds it difficult to communicate, but its a credit to all caring, nursing and entertainment staff she is still very happy. Many thanks to all Rowen Lodge staff.

We are very happy with the excellent care that my mother receives at Rowan Lodge. She has complex needs and the nursing team does a great job in managing this and supporting us, whilst the whole carer team interacts with her in a warm, friendly and attentive way. It is clear that she is very fond of her carers and vice versa. Rowan Lodge puts on a great range of activities, which Mum enjoyed when she was first living there, although sadly she is now at a stage where she cannot participate.

The care that my mother has received since arriving at Rowan Lodge has been second to none. The staff are so caring and treat the residents with respect and dignity. My mother has communication issues but the staff have taken time to get to know her and can now accurately anticipate what she is asking for. We are always made very welcome when we visit, the home is light, bright and modern and there is always something happening, from themed days, exercise sessions, quizzes and pamper time. Mum is very happy which makes us happy. I would highly recommend Rowan Lodge.

My mother has been well looked after since moving in 4 months ago. she has struggled with settling in but the activities, care and nursing team have been very helpful. Sometimes it has been very hard for me to accept how she is and the staff have gone out of their way to provide me with reassurance that she is enjoying the activities (even though she has little memory from minute to minute). I am particularly pleased with the activities team as they are always so upbeat and happy to be there. The team really seem to enjoy their jobs. Moving a loved one into a home is very hard emotionally, but I feel that my mother is receiving the best care possible.

Rowan Lodge is a wonderful home for my dad. He went there for emergency respite after a fall a year ago, and he chose to stay permanently. The staff appear to genuinely care for him; they enjoy his company as much as he does theirs, and I know that he is safe and extremely well cared for. The home itself is spotless in its cleanliness and decor, and the food is excellent.

There are always activities for residents to take part in if they wish, including occasional trips out. I am most happy that the staff recognise the residents as individuals and do their very best to help them continue doing the activities and hobbies they enjoy. Friends and family are always welcome.

My family and I have been delighted with the care provided to my 98 year old mother since she moved into Rowan Lodge in November 2022. To be quite honest I wish that I’d moved her to Rowan Lodge sooner! The home is quite simply wonderful in all aspects with laughter and the sound of activity buzzing every time I’ve visited. Everyone on the nursing, care, activities, catering, housekeeping and management teams provided the utmost care and attention to my mum throughout her stay and the end of life care was fantastic, not just towards my mum but also for my family and myself. I can’t recommend Rowan Lodge highly enough, for anyone looking for a care/nursing home for their relative.

Rowan Lodge is a lovely home. My father is really happy there. The staff are friendly and extremely caring. Care is tailored to each individual resident. Nothing is too much trouble. The food is plentiful, varied and of excellent quality. There are always lots of activities for the residents to join in. At Christmas, there were several parties and a pre-Christmas lunch for families to go to. Everything is included in the fees. I couldn't wish for him to be anywhere better.

On the 15th August 2022, I had to find emergency care for my friend who has Parkinson's. The reason was his partner of sixty-three years was rushed to hospital. They have no children and as I was power of attorney along with another friend, we decided full-time care in a home was the answer. I made a call to Rowan Lodge Care Home and spoke to a member of staff (who completely understood our predicament), my friend was in Rowan Lodge the following day and stayed for a month whilst his partner recuperated from her stay in hospital! Amazing care.
