From the minute we enquired about respite care for a friend following a hip operation, to the minute we walked out the door to take her home, we were impressed by the professional and friendly approach of all the staff. Throughout the stay, every member of staff always had a smile, found time for a
chat and treated residents with respect.
The home is a welcoming, warm and safe environment and any needs and requests were always accommodated with understanding. It is extremely well led, and the cleanliness of the rooms and communal areas is excellent.
The activities and facilities are varied and the coffee lounge is bright and airy with lovely views. It is a wonderful place for the residents to sit with friends or visitors when it is not possible to sit outside.

We will certainly not hesitate to recommend the home to anyone looking for somewhere where their loved ones will be safe and well cared for.

4-star hotel quality, facilities include hairdresser, small cinema, several lounges, also a tea and coffee and snack lounge. All areas are spotlessly clean, good choice of food, including a large English breakfast. Lunch and dinner always started with a tasty home made soups. A two-choice menu for lunch
and dinner, with other options available. Nothing ever too much trouble for management and staff in all areas. All friendly, patient and helpful and all calls answered promptly. Large rooms for residents with good ensuite facilities, including wet room.

My mum has lived at Oak Lodge for 3 years and I have always been impressed by the level of care given. From the very start all the staff seemed to know her and understand her needs, adapting to her as she has become more frail. She is always treated with respect and dignity, and enabled to enjoy her
life in the home.

When she first moved in she was able to join in many of the varied activities and, although she is less inclined to now, she is always encouraged and helped to do anything she wishes to do. She recently celebrated her 100th birthday and I was overwhelmed by the support I received in organising a small celebration.

I have rarely had to raise any concerns but have found that staff are usually already aware and dealing with any issue.

It gives me great peace of mind to know that Mum is in such a lovely, caring environment.

We have been really glad we found Oak Lodge for my mother's care, and in the 3 1/2 years she has been there, has always said that she was happy living there, which removes a great weight off our minds.
Oak Lodge is clearly a well managed and happy place and always feels bright and airy and sweet smelling!
and the gardens are a lovely place for us to sit with my mother on our visits in the summer (especially when we visit with our son's little dog!).
All the staff are fantastic, always friendly and helpful to both my mother and us, addressing us by name on our visits and contacting us when necessary.
Although my mother has dementia, which sadly will never change, it has become noticeable that she is declining a lot slower than before she moved to Oak Lodge, and we have no doubt that this is due to the staff providing lots of varied entertainment and catering for her varied needs, for which we are very grateful.

Oak Lodge - Forest Care is expertly managed and all the care team are wonderful. Since joining Oak Lodge my mother is content with her dementia. It seemed the right decision to start her at Oak Lodge before there was an accident and this has proved the right decision as she has made good friends,
is settled into the daily routine and enjoys the events. Prior to starting, my mother would often ask what she had done wrong or what she was expected to do next? There is none of this worry at Oak Lodge because as a resident with dementia she benefits from continual social contact and activities. It is a huge relief to see my mother happy and thriving in the warm and welcoming environment. I went to see 10 care homes in the area before selecting Oak Lodge and would not have my mother in any other care home. The staff are amazing and look after my mother with genuine care and attention to keep her happy.

I was reassured and pleased to observe first hand the courtesy and kindness exercised by staff to our relative in the last few weeks of his life. They were considerate and supportive of my daughters and were prepared to give information and explanations of actions that were taken to make him as comfortable
as possible. They showed sensitivity and compassion. Thank you.

My Mum has been in Oak Lodge for nearly 4 years and all of the time the staff have treated her with love and care. I live away and cannot visit her as much as i would like, but i know she couldn't have better care than in Oak Lodge and i am very grateful to all the staff who look after her. She now
has Dementia which is heartbreaking, but they all cope with the situation amazingly.

Cedar Lodge was where my mum spent her final few months. Their 'magic' worked from day 1. So welcoming without being over-bearing. Always a kind face from all of the staff. My mum was quite artistic and thoroughly enjoyed joining in with the superbly prepared activities. So much better for her than
sitting at home watching TV. I can not praise Cedar Lodge enough. A fabulous environment. When my time comes around it's where I'd ike to be.

My cousin has been in Holly Lodge for over a year now. She was very reluctant to start, determined not to join in. Now, she loves it and cannot believe how lucky she is to be in such a beautiful place. The stsff are amazing, the meals and service are brilliant and ,to our surprise, she joins in with
activities.
In her muddled mind, she thinks she is in a lovely hotel, which says it all, doesn't it?

I am very grateful for the excellent and comprehensive care which my wife received while she was resident in Rowan Lodge for seven months in 2025. That care has significantly improved her general health, mobility and alertness, and has enabled her to return to her own beloved home a few days ago. I
should also like to praise the staff in all levels at Rowan Lodge for their unfailing helpfulness, courtesy and friendliness to the residents and their visitors. During my visits I was always favourably impressed by the effective management of Rowan Lodge, its cleanliness and its attractive environment. I would certainly recommend Rowan Lodge as very suitable for anyone needing respite of long-term care.

My dad came here as a long term resident in August this year and I cannot fault Cedar Lodge in any way. I would give them 10 /5 if I could. Wonderful, caring, kind, considerate, gentle, very experienced staff; brain and body stimulating exercises every single day, lovely food in a superclean, high priority
safety aware environment.
My dad came here slumped forward in a wheelchair sleeping most of the day and after only 7 weeks with a free physio programme is walking around on a frame, chatting to everyone and joining in with everything on offer.
I cannot fault this fantastic home; it's very family oriented and actually reminds me of a cruise ship for elderly people, their entertainment schedule is second to none !! A massive thankyou to Nenita the lovely manager and all her team for going above and beyond in changing my dad's whole life.
I would thoroughly recommend it and the whole place should get "outstanding"
I have no idea what extra they could do to improve comfort !

Mum has been a resident of Cedar Lodge for three years and we are so lucky to have found such a warm, caring and very professionally run home for her. After respite periods in another couple of homes in the area, we quickly realised the extent to which the team at Cedar Lodge goes above and beyond
in the care they provide. Staff are always friendly, responsive, on top of mum's current needs and medical appointments and importantly she has developped close bonds with many of them. The addition of the coffee shop area has been wonderful, allowing residents to receive multiple visitors in a welcoming environment and for the Lodge to host more events with family and friends. They are to be commended for coming up with new and varied activities, mum particularly enjoyed being able to have her wedding dress on display recently! We are so grateful to all of the team who work tirelessly but in good humour to the benefit of mum's health, well-being and our own peace of mind.
