We were very lucky to find Cedar Lodge. My father was with them for a year during which all the carers and wider staff treated him with immense kindness, compassion and care. The nursing team were brilliant - they were highly accessible and offered frequent feedback without needing to be asked. Dad
had access to a wide variety of activities and I enjoyed joining him for singers and visiting birds of prey etc. The activities team worked so hard! When dad was no longer able to leave his bed they would come to his room to read to him & look at his photobooks. I am very grateful for the care he received from everyone, when dad passed away it was clear that Cedar Lodge is like one big family.

Since my mother arrived at Elm Lodge, the management team and staff have been thoughtful, very caring, patient, with nothing being too much trouble with anything Mum has requested. The facilities are very special, along with the whole team. We are very happy with all aspects of Mum's care. What a find!

The Elm Lodge team are superstars and constantly go above and beyond to care for my Mum. They recently pulled out all the stops so that she could attend my Brother's wedding. We were therefore incredibly lucky to have her there and she starred in all of the photos, which is incredible as she's wheelchair-bound
and doesn't speak very often now due to her Alzheimer's. She was smiling all day, which is the best possible outcome. I just want to say a huge thank you, to all the staff, for your continued, unwavering care. Mum is a better person for being where she is. I cannot rate Elm Lodge highly enough - you don't need to look anywhere else if you're on the journey to find care for your loved one.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mum has been in Oak Lodge for 4 weeks respite with the hope of later becoming a full time resident. Mum has dementia and obviously finding it all very different and a bit anxious at times,
all staff have been very caring and understanding of mum's needs.
Paying particular attention to her likes
and dislikes and with the option to join in with activities if she wishes, she is encouraged but not forced and I have been so pleased to see her joining in. The manageress is always happy to discuss any issues and resolve them promptly.
Oak Lodge has many bright and airy spaces, the dining area is like a restaurant and the food is excellent. Rooms are very clean and comfortable and gardens and surrounding area is beautiful.
Not only have the staff and especially the Manageress been so nice to mum, but also very supportive and nice to me too at a time of tough changes in our lives.
I would be extremely happy if mum could continue living here and i'd be happy to recommend Oak Lodge to anyone

My mother has been at Oak Lodge for about 3 years and I am so very glad that she's a resident there. All the Oak Lodge staff- admin, nurses, carers, maintenance etc...genuinely seem to care for her, and it's situated in a beautiful environment. She feels safe , looked after, and has made lots of friends
there, enjoying a wealth of different activities, from poetry reading, singing in their choir to floor curling!
In addition they have visitations from a host of different furry/feathered friends: alpacas, guinea pigs, birds of prey and so on.
School children regularly visit for chats, singing and making cards, and singers, musicians and dancers also entertain.
I am so blessed that she's enjoying her new home, thank you Oak Lodge for providing outstanding care and support to mum.

Really glad we found Oak Lodge for my mother's care. There is no doubt that she is well looked after in her twilight years, and has always said that she is happy here, which is a great weight off our minds.
The place is always bright, warm and airy and, along with the gardens, always well kept. The
staff are amazing, friendly and always know my mother (and us), by name, providing lots of varied entertainment for the residents, catering for their varied needs.
The impression, over the past three years, has always been one of a well managed and happy place, for which we are very grateful!

I have visited many care homes with, and for, family and friends, over many years. The Lodge has proved to provide all that we required for my husband... a calm environment, genuine warmth between residents and carers, many opportunities for residents to be independent and make their own decisions,
ie - free movement inside/outside the building, choice of activities each day, choice of all meals each day, and a choice to join 'day out' trips. Above all this, the care all residents receive every day is outstanding!!

Mum has been a resident at Holly Lodge for five months. She has settled extremely well. Her anxiety levels have dropped dramatically, due to the skills of the nursing team and genuinely caring and polite staff. The catering team produce a wide variety of appetising and nutritionally balanced food. The
entertainment staff are always cheerful and have a great variety of activities on offer. They produce a news paper, which keeps residents connected to their loved ones. There are also places for those who enjoy quiet time. The beautiful gardens are easily accessible. Visitors are encouraged and welcome to call at any time. The cleaning staff keep everything spotless. Mum has regular visits from the lovely doctor, chiropodist and hairdresser, and enjoys having a manicure. Her personal hygiene is well managed and she is always neatly presented. The management team are efficient, helpful and approachable. I cannot fault this very caring home and would recommend it without hesitation.

From the moment we first visited Elm Lodge, we have been extremely impressed with the quality, standards and care provide by all the management and staff. We feel Elm Lodge reflects the services within a five star hotel. Our resident friend is happier, healthier, eating much better and totally content
with 'her new home'. She has an enthusiastic zest for life which prior to moving to Elm Lodge, she had lost completely. We cannot thank all the staff for all they have done in achieving this. We visit frequently and are always made to feel extremely welcome with delicious beverages and cakes always available for residents and their guests. We cannot praise the Elm Lodge Management and staff enough for their professionalism, experience, dedication and kindness.

Two years ago, my wife aide an unplanned visit to Cedar Lodge as my mother's then care home was falling short of our expectations and Mum needed more care. My wife was so impressed. On visiting, so was I, and Mum moved in. The staff know residents and visitors by name, and know about residents welfare
and condition like they were family. In fact, Cedar Lodge is like a big family home. The staff - all of them - really care and go the extra mile for the residents, and looked after us when my mum was declining and passed away.

I find Cedar Lodge to be a bright, happy caring home where the staff give love & perfection to all the residents & everyone is called by the Christian names which makes it all so friendly. Special attention is given to the residents well being and special activities are arranged most weeks a nice pub
lunch and lovely barbicue recently took advantage of the good weather, we all had a lovely time. Also a party was arranged for Mothers Day with tea & cakes. Everyones tastes are considered and surprising keep fit is very popular and they are good at it too. Also arts & crafts are enjoyed. The staff join in everything which encourages the elderly.
The food is good and to most people taste
The home is very well run and the levels of staff are easily identified by their smart uniforms
The home is immucutly clean & bright
And many of us are looking forward to sitting in the garden enjoying the summer flowers

My first impression of Cedar Lodge was how happy, friendly and welcoming is everyone. The staff are always helpful and take great care of the resident, and are happy to answer any queries. Frequent events are laid on, often musical entertainment, and sometimes visits from animals, such as rabbits, and
once small birds of prey. A large friendly dog is a frequent visitor. Birthdays are always celebrated with delicious cakes. The dining area is well laid out, almost like a hotel. I am very satisfied with the good care my husband is receiving.

In the end Dad's residency at Cedar Lodge was just under 9 months. The home was clean & the staff friendly & helpful. Dad had always wanted to attend his church on a Sunday and to begin with this was made possible but as Dad's needs increased this became impossible. The home cared for his medical &
nutrition needs, although we did have issues with the food which seemed to be addressed by the management. My only concern was the number of bed sores he developed which were managed after they had occured rather than preventing them happening.
