My mother has been at Oak Lodge since December 2020, although she now can't do anything for herself, they treat her with the utmost respect and preserve her dignity. They ensure that she is not in her room all day, but is moved to the lounge area daily, where she can see and hear all the activities, and even where singing is involved, join in. All the staff are amazing, caring and attentive, and have absolutely no doubt that she is in the best possible hands, day and night.

All of the staff at Oak Lodge are wonderful, so friendly and caring. I cannot praise them enough. They have all helped my husband settle in and feel at home. There is such a lovely atmosphere. They have also given me the confidence that he is very well cared for. Nothing is too much trouble. Thank you to Grace and all the team.

Dad has lived at Oak Lodge for six months.
I have peace of mind that he is well cared for by friendly, professional, and caring staff. All his needs from hairdressing to chiropody to having his preferred daily newspaper available are catered for (and at no extra cost!)
His room is light and airy with a view of open countryside. The communal areas are bright and, more importantly, spotlessly clean.
Oak Lodge puts on many and varied daily activities to suit all tastes for the residents to enjoy - or retire to a quiet area should they so choose.
Mealtimes have always been very important for Dad and he is quick to point out that both the variety and quality produced in the kitchens are top notch.
All the staff are cheerful and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Medical needs are addressed in an exemplary manner.

Fom a visitor's perspective, Oak Lodge is in a lovely open countryside location, there are ample parking spaces.

From the minute we enquired about respite care for a friend following a hip operation, to the minute we walked out the door to take her home, we were impressed by the professional and friendly approach of all the staff. Throughout the stay, every member of staff always had a smile, found time for a chat and treated residents with respect.
The home is a welcoming, warm and safe environment and any needs and requests were always accommodated with understanding. It is extremely well led, and the cleanliness of the rooms and communal areas is excellent.
The activities and facilities are varied and the coffee lounge is bright and airy with lovely views. It is a wonderful place for the residents to sit with friends or visitors when it is not possible to sit outside.

We will certainly not hesitate to recommend the home to anyone looking for somewhere where their loved ones will be safe and well cared for.

My mum has lived at Oak Lodge for 3 years and I have always been impressed by the level of care given. From the very start all the staff seemed to know her and understand her needs, adapting to her as she has become more frail. She is always treated with respect and dignity, and enabled to enjoy her life in the home.

When she first moved in she was able to join in many of the varied activities and, although she is less inclined to now, she is always encouraged and helped to do anything she wishes to do. She recently celebrated her 100th birthday and I was overwhelmed by the support I received in organising a small celebration.

I have rarely had to raise any concerns but have found that staff are usually already aware and dealing with any issue.

It gives me great peace of mind to know that Mum is in such a lovely, caring environment.

We have been really glad we found Oak Lodge for my mother's care, and in the 3 1/2 years she has been there, has always said that she was happy living there, which removes a great weight off our minds.
Oak Lodge is clearly a well managed and happy place and always feels bright and airy and sweet smelling! and the gardens are a lovely place for us to sit with my mother on our visits in the summer (especially when we visit with our son's little dog!).
All the staff are fantastic, always friendly and helpful to both my mother and us, addressing us by name on our visits and contacting us when necessary.

Although my mother has dementia, which sadly will never change, it has become noticeable that she is declining a lot slower than before she moved to Oak Lodge, and we have no doubt that this is due to the staff providing lots of varied entertainment and catering for her varied needs, for which we are very grateful.

Oak Lodge - Forest Care is expertly managed and all the care team are wonderful. Since joining Oak Lodge my mother is content with her dementia. It seemed the right decision to start her at Oak Lodge before there was an accident and this has proved the right decision as she has made good friends, is settled into the daily routine and enjoys the events. Prior to starting, my mother would often ask what she had done wrong or what she was expected to do next? There is none of this worry at Oak Lodge because as a resident with dementia she benefits from continual social contact and activities. It is a huge relief to see my mother happy and thriving in the warm and welcoming environment. I went to see 10 care homes in the area before selecting Oak Lodge and would not have my mother in any other care home. The staff are amazing and look after my mother with genuine care and attention to keep her happy.

My Mum has been in Oak Lodge for nearly 4 years and all of the time the staff have treated her with love and care. I live away and cannot visit her as much as i would like, but i know she couldn't have better care than in Oak Lodge and i am very grateful to all the staff who look after her. She now has Dementia which is heartbreaking, but they all cope with the situation amazingly.

I don't think I could think of a nursing home in which my sister would receive better care. Her physical needs are considerable and they are all met with, not only professional competence, but with a smile and a joke. The staff are kind and considerate and, importantly, treat her with respect.

The home is kept beautifully, clean and attractive and above all, welcoming.

My mum has been in Oak Lodge for 4 weeks respite with the hope of later becoming a full time resident. Mum has dementia and obviously finding it all very different and a bit anxious at times,
all staff have been very caring and understanding of mum's needs.
Paying particular attention to her likes and dislikes and with the option to join in with activities if she wishes, she is encouraged but not forced and I have been so pleased to see her joining in. The manageress is always happy to discuss any issues and resolve them promptly.
Oak Lodge has many bright and airy spaces, the dining area is like a restaurant and the food is excellent. Rooms are very clean and comfortable and gardens and surrounding area is beautiful.
Not only have the staff and especially the Manageress been so nice to mum, but also very supportive and nice to me too at a time of tough changes in our lives.

I would be extremely happy if mum could continue living here and i'd be happy to recommend Oak Lodge to anyone

My mother has been at Oak Lodge for about 3 years and I am so very glad that she's a resident there. All the Oak Lodge staff- admin, nurses, carers, maintenance etc...genuinely seem to care for her, and it's situated in a beautiful environment. She feels safe , looked after, and has made lots of friends there, enjoying a wealth of different activities, from poetry reading, singing in their choir to floor curling!
In addition they have visitations from a host of different furry/feathered friends: alpacas, guinea pigs, birds of prey and so on.
School children regularly visit for chats, singing and making cards, and singers, musicians and dancers also entertain.

I am so blessed that she's enjoying her new home, thank you Oak Lodge for providing outstanding care and support to mum.

Our 99-year-old mum has been at Oak Lodge for 18 months, and every time we see her she tells us how lucky she is to be in such a lovely home, and looked after by such caring people.
She has made so many friends and enjoys all the activities that are provided, from gardening, crafts, musicians, singers, nursery group visits, and she has joined the choir.

The care is exceptional, the setting in beautiful grounds is perfect and the catering is amazing. We would love to thank everyone at Oak Lodge for everything they do for her .

Outstanding care and attention from all the management team and staff.
Know that mum is so very well cared for and has settled in well since arriving in July 2023.
She in turn feels she receives great support and care.
Know that on my arrival I am well informed and updated on any issues that staff or mum might currently have.

I'm in turn always greeted as "a friend/family member" which makes me feel very welcome too.

My dear 88-year-old elderly mother recently completed a five-week respite stay at Oak Lodge. I cannot speak highly enough of the love, care, patience and personal attention which she received during her stay. Oak Lodge itself is a home of the highest quality, very well kept, set in beautiful surroundings, offering a quality of care and kindness which is embedded in all staff, at all levels, from the top down. My mother, with early-stage dementia, and not entirely appreciating the full extent of help she needs, is not the easiest character to manage and work around. Everyone at Oak Lodge settled her in beautifully, and she had a wonderful time, she could not have been treated with greater care and consideration. All of the management and staff are friendly, helpful and straightforward, the administration is first-class. I would highly recommend Oak Lodge to anyone seeking top-quality care for a loved one in a beautiful, countryside setting with excellent modern facilities.

On entering Oak Lodge, beautiful gardens lift your spirits. Inside is clean and bright everywhere.
Mum and Dad were always in fresh clothes, and medication was meticulously given. Home-made cake mid-afternoon.
There's plenty of fun too; one day two penguins came to visit and one called Widget sat on Dad's lap.
Then they waddled off to explore the home! As Dad said: 'At Oak Lodge you can still have amazing new experiences even when you're 93!'
But the staff make this place; in truth, I have never been anywhere with so many kind, patient, and competent
people under one roof. I've learned a lot from them.

I'm so glad that Mum and Dad's last months were made so comfortable, and in turn, this leaves me feeling very happy.

The family made an informed choice when we applied to Oak Lodge for residence for my 90-year-old wife in 2022, and we have been very well rewarded for the trouble we took to find the best home for her. She quickly settled and greatly appreciates the care that she is receiving. We've been particularly grateful for the way that Oak Lodge has liaised with us as a family and the support the staff have given me personally in adjusting to living without my wife, whom I've known for nearly 80 years.
